Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho shared on Twitter (X) his achievement of collecting 50,000 cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket. His YouTube content focuses on random videos of different genres, such as product reviews, vlogs, challenges, and others.

On January 19, 2025, Hajimesyacho proudly announced a rare achievement in Pokémon TCG Pocket: he had collected 50,000 cards by purchasing the maximum amount of Poke Gold available every day since the mobile game’s launch on October 30, 2024.

For context, 720 is the daily limit for Poké Gold purchases, and he must spend around $100 a day to hit the cap. Considering that Pokémon TCG Pocket has been live for 85 days, Hajimesyacho has spent an estimated $8,500 to date.

The computation did not include any sales events during its global launch and the holiday season. However, Hajumesyacho’s achievement in the game showed his dedication to collecting every available card from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs and the time-exclusive promo cards.

The latest card released was a Trainer card named Pokedex, allowing players to see the top three cards of their deck. This card was rewarded to players in celebration of collecting 40 billion cards worldwide in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

15 physical cards can be randomly obtained from this collaboration, including Miraidon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and more. 7 of these are "holo" or "foil" cards, sporting a glossy and reflective finish. Meanwhile, TCG Pocket players can also redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, which can be used to open booster packs and select a single card from Wonder Pick.

The collaboration includes four variants of Pokemon Happy Meal boxes, sporting popular dragon-type Pokemon like Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite with Pikachu.

You can visit participating McDonald's stores to get these exclusive items. However, this is only available until supplies run out. Additionally, TCG Pocket’s rewards expire on March 31, 2025, so make sure to redeem the items before their expiry date.

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Trade Feature

Image

Pokemon TCG Pocket took to Twitter (X) to announce more details about its upcoming trade feature on January 17, 2025.

For starters, trades can only be done between friends, and cards should be the same rarity. Cards of 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity can be traded. Much rarer cards such as Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares are not up for trade. There is also an item to be consumed using this feature, similar to how Pokemon GO players pay Stardust when trading with friends.

Certain cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are available for trade, but the TCG Pocket team assured fans they will expand the card selection in the future. "We’ll continue to monitor player feedback and assess future updates to the trade feature while keeping in mind how to balance both the ease and enjoyability of collecting."

In the same Twitter (X) post, it was teased that a new booster pack will be released this January. However, the exact date of release is yet to be disclosed.
