if you start the game in japanese, create a japanese island name, then change your language to english later, will your island name stay the same?

If you choose Portuguese, game will be set in english.
There is no Portuguese language support.
I can confirm it doesn’t affect your progress or save file! I changed my language and everything is the same.

Sadly does not have Portuguese as said on the article. I hope that Nintendo look after us in the future, brazilians.

I think you can change it at any time. By "it is necessary to reset the game," I think they meant that you have to restart the game for the language change to take effect but your save progress/everything else will be okay.
I still didnt really get it - does it delete the game data if u change the language? because I've been playing for a while but I decided that I'd rather play in English but I'm not sure if I'll have to start from the beginning again-
my language is never in these games
