How to Play Hunt of Ash and Steel
Complete the First Hunt in By Sun's Burning Hand
Play through the main story and finish the first hunt to unlock Hunt of Ash and Steel! While the event can be playable after defeating the Corrosaurus during By Sun's Burning Hand main quest, some of its tasks can still be locked if you haven't finished the entire main quest.

Unlock Tasks Through Main Story Progression
Hunt of Ash and Steel is filled with tasks tied to your progression of the Chapter 2 Act VIII Main Quest: By Sun's Burning Hand. The fourth and final set of tasks is time-gated. It will likely unlock once the second phase is released alongside Iuno.
Press Go for Guidance
In case the tasks get a bit confusing, you can press Go to the right of the objective. Doing so will show the task's location and guide you on what needs to be done!
Once you've completed the task, press Claim to get your rewards.

Defeat Corrosaurus for the First Time
You can fight the Corrosaurus once you arrive at Tempest Cliffs for the first time during the By the Sun's Burning Hand main quest. During this fight, you'll be able to use Augusta and Aero Rover simultaneously.
2.6 Quest Part 1 - By Sun's Burning Hand Guide
Ignite the Sacred Flames
You will naturally achieve this task as you progress through the By the Sun's Burning Hand quest. It will be the moment when Iuno shoots her arrow at the Sacred Flame, with a gorgeous backdrop of the moon.
Complete The Wastelands: Nightmare Nest Challenge
Defeat all 36 Nightmare Tacet Discords in The Wastelands: Nightmare Nest to accomplish this task! You can teleport to the Maroonwood Resonance Beacon and fly north for easy access.

Activate the Resoance Nexus in Murmurstown
You will reach Murmurstown naturally once Buling has tracked down the Sovereign during the By the Sun's Burning Hand quest. Rover and Augusta's target is hiding in Murmurstown which you can reach through a Wingray after a long cutscene.
Head to Murmustown From 16 Years Ago
After arriving in Murmurstown using the Wingray, keep running forward to unlock a cutscene with Augusta, Avidius, Rover, and other gladiators. It will show the former glory of Murmurstown 16 years ago and how it fell apart.
Complete Dreams of Cindertide Blood Challenge I
Teleport to the Resonance Beacon at Asphodel Barrens and fly east until you can interact the huge greatsword sticking from the ground. Complete the first fighting challenge against two Thundercrest Gladiators in under one minute and 20 seconds.
Dodging rewards you with an additional five seconds to the timer, while parrying rewards you with 10. To balance it out, getting hit subtracts five seconds; hence, it's important to remember and abuse these mechanics to win!
Defeat Lady of the Sea
The Lady of the Sea is located at Capitoline Hill, Septimont. You can access her directly at the fighting arena. Note that she has resistance to Aero damage!

Defeat the False Sovereign in By Sun's Burning Hand
Prepare for an intense battle with Augusta against the False Sovereign when you arrive at Earthend Wrench.
The False Sovereign Location and Guide
Complete Echo Challenge Flight I
Teleport to Hunter's Den and fly to the ruined building that's south of its Nexus. The Echo Challenge Flight is located at a wooden platform with candles. Complete this challenge and aim for the rings to get a higher score!
Note that this challenge can only be unlocked after completing By Sun's Burning Hand.
Complete Side Quest May Applause Greet You
Teleport to Hunter's Den and fly west until you can see the huge horn-shaped Echo. Near it is a female brunette gladiator that you can talk to start the quest. Investigate what's happening to the mentioned campsite to finish this task!
Unfortunately, you can only access this quest after finishing By Sun's Burning Hand.
Complete Side Quest Dream of a Rusted Sword Part I
At the same area as the previous side quest, talk to Bezos who's nearby the Resonance Nexus. Find the old hunter and finish this quest to complete this task!
Note that you must complete By Sun's Burning Hand to unlock this Dream of a Rusted Sword Part I.

Hold Hands With Iuno
You can hold hands with Iuno during the By Moon's Fated Light main quest, after the Rover retrieves her specter from within the Chaos.
Inspect Omen of Fate Once
After choosing to follow Iuno's foretold fate, take on her perspective and inspect an Omen of Fate from all the Septimontians that ask for a divination. Don't worry if you skipped through this part of the story, as the event task will be considered complete regardless.
Complete Main Quest By Moon's Fated Light.
Complete By Moon's Fated Light, which is the main quest of Version 2.6's second phase, to get the rewards. The quest takes place in Septimont and was released on September 17, 2025. Note that you can only play this quest after you've finished the By Sun's Burning Hand Guide main quest.
2.6 Quest Part 2 - By Moon's Fated Light
Admire the Moon With Iuno at Night
After finishing the By Moon's Fated Light main quest, head to Asphodel Barrens' Resonance Nexus and fly up to the tree surrounded by Sliverglow Bloom. Make sure your in-game time is set around 20:00 - 4:00. You should get the rewards after talking to Iuno, who is sleeping on one of the tree's branches.
