Afterlifes are mostly obtained in Fallen Grave and Anima Cradle within Fabricatorium of the Deep. Majority are obtained from Shards of Beyond though, but requires you to complete the main quest, Dreamcatchers in the Secret Gardens.

How to Get Afterlife
Collected in Fabricatorium of the Deep
Afterlife is an overworld item that is primarily gatherable in Fabricatorium of the Deep. You can find around 60 of these materials within the areas of Fallen Grave, Anima Cradle and Shards of the Beyond!

 Immediately upon entry into the Shards of the Beyond, located in a flower field with 15 flowers around it. Use your Sensor to track. |
 First flower terrace across a house where Phrolova appears, easy to spot and isolated from another bunch of flowers in the area. |
 Near the first three Afterlifes on a flower terrace, across a certain house where Phrolova appears with around 8 flowers. |
 Directly beside the house where Phrolova appears, 4 flowers in this patch. |
 Behind the house where Phrolova appears, near an invisible wall and a clifface with around 8 flowers. |
 On a cliff face behind the house where Phrolova appears. |
There are 40 Afterlifes located in Lumen Tower's smaller island to its south where Shards of the Beyond is located. It is accessible after you finish Chapter 2 Act 7 of the main quest via an interactable broken mirror.
There are no maps in the area, so use your Sensor to highlight the collectibles. Don't forget to visit this place after completing the main quest as most of the Afterlifes you can acquire are found here!
