Machine Tier List Explanations

S-Tier Combat Machines

Machines Explanations
Wuthering Waves - Freeze Jet Freeze Jet • A Machine that has good damage, great reach, a slow, and a small AoE to its name
• Can be upgraded to either Freeze for better crowd-control, or deal more damage via ignoring defense
• Does well against both cannon fodder and tougher enemies
Wuthering Waves - Shock Inductor Shock Inductor • Extremely high single-target damage on a relatively short cooldown
• Can be upgraded to have AoE capabilities and circumvent its single-target attack
Wuthering Waves - Glacio Beacon Glacio Beacon • Slows all enemies that pass above it with no cooldown
• Upgrades allow it to slow enemies even after they leave range, or to shred resistances
• Very cheap to place
Wuthering Waves - Whirlpool Device Whirlpool Device • Very powerful crowd-control that can stall large groups of enemies and remove shields
• Locks down enemies for other machines to freely target
• Can be upgraded to also pick up Medium-Sized enemies, further increasing crowd control
Wuthering Waves - Thunder Lance Thunder Lance • True AoE attacks allow it to hit all enemies in range on a short cooldown
• No range limit allows it to shine when used in long corridors
Wuthering Waves - Repulsor Spout Repulsor Spout • Can push enemies off the map to instantly defeat them
• Upgrades allow it to either push Medium-Sized enemies, or clear Frequency Contamination, both of which are greatly helpful

A-Tier Combat Machines

Machines Explanations
Wuthering Waves - Burst Launcher Burst Launcher • Good AoE damage with a consistent fire rate
• Can store shots when not firing to release when an enemy enter range
• Rarely able to store shots without support once the wave starts
Wuthering Waves - Hologram Echo: Chest Mimic Hologram Echo: Chest Mimic • Good damage that hits everything that passes under it
• Can cause defeated enemies to drop Sim Coins
• Only hits the tile under it, leading to low area coverage
Wuthering Waves - Hologram Echo: Puff Hologram Echo: Puff • Self-upgrading turret that gets stronger as it participates in more combat
• Does good damage once upgraded
• Can be lackluster if not given the time to upgrade, also has low range
Wuthering Waves - Hologram Echo: Drake Hologram Echo: Drake • Channeled attacks deal consistent damage to all enemies in its range
• Can be upgraded to inflict a burn damage-over-time, or to have more range
• Limited by its small base range and mediocre damage output
Wuthering Waves - Frost Spout Frost Spout • Hits everything in range with a good slow when triggered
• Can be upgraded to apply a freeze when hitting already slowed enemies
• Has downtime, unlike the Glacio Beacon
Wuthering Waves - Vortex Generator Vortex Generator • Has good grouping capabilities, similar to the Whirlpool Device
• Unique upgrade allows it to remove Invisibility from enemies
• Cannot be upgraded to pull Medium-Sized enemies
Wuthering Waves - Stun Emitter Stun Emitter • Applies Paralysis, which intermittently shocks and stuns affected targets
• Can be layered with CC from different Machines to severely impede enemy movement
• Has difficulty slowing down large waves on its own

Machines Explanations
Wuthering Waves - Tacetite Barrage Tacetite Barrage • Quick attacks that deal decent damage
• Rather limited range and AoE to its attacks
Wuthering Waves - Tacetite Spikes Tacetite Spikes • Cheap to put down, and hits everything above it when it activates
• Very small AoE, and cannot deal with faster enemies
Wuthering Waves - Glitch Spawner Glitch Spawner • Strong effect that causes the target to walk in the opposite direction for the duration
• Hampered by its low target count and relatively high recharge time
Wuthering Waves - Hologram Echo: Hoartoise Hologram Echo: Hoartoise • Can launch enemies off the track and out-of-bounds, instantly defeating them
• Very high recharge time
• Demanding on space as it needs three Ceiling tiles
Wuthering Waves - Hologram Echo: Junrock Hologram Echo: Junrock • Does massive damage in a wide area when triggered
• Slow recharge time makes it inconsistent when dealing with larger waves of enemies
