Ranged Strategy

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood Boss Tips

Use Poison and Bleed

Inflicting status ailments on Juno Hoslow will help greatly, as this boss could be more difficult for ranged builds to fight. For archer builds, equip yourself with Bloodbone Arrows or Poisonbone Arrows.

List of All Arrows and Bolts

Use Quick-Release Spells and Attacks

Swift Glintstone Shard is a low FP spell that fires quickly and is good for close-range encounters. Gravitational sorceries like Rock Sling are excellent at hitting Juno, as well as flame incantations like Black Flame. Give these spells, you will have to do a lot of backwards rolling and backpedaling to avoid Juno Hoslow's attacks, though.

Inescapable Frenzy

For any build with at least 21 Faith, the Incantation Inescapable Frenzy has the ability to insta-kill Juno Hoslow, so long as you are able to grab him with the attack. This is best done at the beginning of the fight, as Juno will perform a gesture before engaging in combat.

Cheese Strategy: Attack From Above

Immediately to the right of the battlefield are some rocks you can jump on top of. Get on top of these rocks and use Poison Mist to wear him down. You may also use other long-range or AoE Sorceries or Incantations to deal damage from up above.

Melee Strategy

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood Boss Tips

Guard Counters and Jump Attacks

If you have a light weapon, it would be best to use Guard Counters against this boss. This ensures quick counterattacks and fast damage. Just make sure your stamina is full before attempting to do guard counters.

If you are using a heavy weapon, always try to do two-handed jump attacks. Juno will try to evade some of them but other times they will hit, especially if Juno tries to attack while you're mid-air. Your two-handed jump attacks with heavy weapons will always break his poise, cancelling his attack.

Inflict Bleed and Poison

Bloodflame Blade or Poison Armament will be very useful incantations in this fight, as Juno Hoslow is susceptible to these status ailments.

Use Shack of the Lofty as an Obstacle

If you're in dire need of healing, you can run into the Shack of the Lofty and keep a wall in between you and Juno for a safer heal. Be careful though, as Juno's whips can pass through walls.

Get a Free Hit in When He Heals

Juno's healing flasks will run out after a single use, but he will still keep on trying to use them. These are perfect moments to run up and get a good strong hit in.

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood Attack Patterns

Whip Attacks

Whip Attack Variations
Double Straight Whip
Double Smash Whip: Juno Hoslow smashes straight ahead with both his whips. This attack covers a short distance in front of Juno. Dodge to the side and retaliate with a hit.
Double Horizontal Whips
Double Horizontal Whip: Juno Hoslow attacks horizontally with both his whips. This attack has wide range but can easily be avoided with a dodge forward plus a quick counterattack.
Single Whip
Single Whip: Juno Hoslow does a single horizontal whip. This attack is the best time to perform a jumping attack. A Guard Counter also works well with this move.
Charged Whip
Charged Whip: Juno Hoslow charges up for an attack for a brief second then does a horizontal whip, which deals a lot of damage. Dodge this in any direction and respond with a quick counterattack.
Jumping Whip
Jumping Whip: Juno Hoslow jumps forward and does a horizontal whip. It's better to do a forward dodge roll into this and retaliate from Juno's side or behind with a single hit.
Running Straight Whip
Running Straight Whip: Juno Hoslow runs forward and does a vertical whip. This attack doesn't have wide range so dodge to the side and perform a quick counterattack.
Running Sweep Whip
Running Sweep Whip: Juno Hoslow runs forward and does a horizontal whip. Dodge in any direction and perform a quick counterattack.
Dashing Attack
Dashing Whip: Juno Hoslow dodge-dashes forward and does a very quick forward whip. Dodge diagonally forward as he begins his dodge to avoid this attack. You can get a hit in afterwards.
Consecutive Whips
Consecutive Whips: Juno Hoslow performs a quick combo consisting of two hits. This move has a lot of range and Juno quickly recovers from it, so it would be best to dodge roll backwards and wait for another opportunity to attack.
