Ranged Strategy

Fell Twins Boss Tips
Check IconUse Spirit Ashes to distract the Twins
Check IconTake advantage of the open boss area
Check IconUse charged spells that do high damage

Use Spirit Ashes to distract the Twins

Ranged users may have difficulty setting up their attacks when dealing with both Twins. To have an easier time with this fight, use summons such as Black Knife Tiche or Banished Knight Oleg to tank damage from the Twins since they can handle them quite well.

At that point, you can choose to either let your Spirit Ash take on both Twins while you attack from afar, or fight one Twin on your own while your summon tackles the other.

Take advantage of the open boss area

The boss area is shrouded in darkness but seemingly endless, so you can just repeat a cycle of getting your attacks in on the Twins from afar, then running away as they get closer to you. This may take some time since they have two health bars, but this is a fairly safe strategy to use.

Use charged spells that do high damage

In connection with the previous tip, the large boss area makes it easy to use charged spells in this fight since you can cast them for a while before you'll need to reposition. Great spells to use would be Comet Azur and Meteorite. Make sure to cast Terra Magica beforehand to further increase your magic damage.

The Fell Twins can be easily backstabbed

The Twins have lumbering attacks, which means with proper timings you can safely roll through these moves and get behind them after their combos. This sets them up for backstabs that inflict heavy damage.

Prioritize counterattacks

While you can choose to be aggressive in this fight due to the Twins' slow movements, it can be safer and more effective to just wait out their combos before attacking them. They'll usually have a long recovery time after a moveset, which gives you a great opening to get a couple hits in.

Exploit the Status Effect weaknesses of the Fell Twins

Weapon Type Weaknesses
Bleed Weapons Scarlet Rot Weapons Poison Weapons

The Fell Twins are weak to various Weapon Types so use these to your advantage to deal additional damage. Bleed and Scarlet Rot will be particularly effective since you can build up their inflictions fairly quickly.

You can also coat your weapon in Blood Grease, Rot Grease, or Poison Grease, if you don't have the aforementioned Weapon Types.

Fell Twins Attack Patterns

Fell Twins Shared Attacks

Fell Twins Shared Attack Variations
Fist Swings - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Fist Swings: Both Fell Twins can strike you with either upward or downward swipes using their fists. Roll as they swing to dodge these attacks.
Kick - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Kick: Similar to the Fist Swings, Fell Twins will sometimes do a short hop to kick and shove you backward. You can roll through this to set up a backstab.
Somersault - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Somersault: Fell Twins flip and land on their back in an attempt to slam down on you. You can telegraph this by when they lift one foot before flipping. Roll to the side or backward.
Jumping Slam - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Jumping Slam: Fell Twins jump and slam their weapons into the ground. Roll when they reach the peak of their jump.

Red Flame Twin Attacks

Red Flame Twin Attack Variations
Clothesline - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Clothesline: The Red Flame Twin pulls back his left arm before lunging forward and trying to swipe you along the way. Roll forward once he fully pulls his arm back.
Grab - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Grab: The Red Flame Twin runs toward you in an attempt to grab and slam you to the ground. If you have some distance from him, just run away from him since this has a limited range. If not, roll as he closes his arms once he's near you.
Swipe and Kick - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Swipe and Kick: The Red Flame Twin swipes his axe at you three times before doing a kick, then does a final swipe. You can back away to avoid this entirely or roll to the side for each move.
Triple Swing Combo - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Triple Swing Combo: The Red Flame Twin slams his axe down then swipes it at you before doing a final slam. Roll to either side as he swings his axe at you.

Black Flame Twin Attacks

Black Flame Twin Attack Information
Black Flame Burst - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Black Flame Burst: The Black Flame Twin charges up a small AoE burst of fire, which launches several orbs that can track you. Back away once he starts lighting up, then run or roll to the side to avoid the orbs.
Flame Spit - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Flame Spit: The Black Flame Twin spits fire at you in an arc. He'll do this twice if you're at midrange, and once if you're close. Roll to the side as the flame approaches you or block with your shield.
Spinning Sweep - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Spinning Sweep: The Black Flame Twin spins around with his sword and tries to strike you three times. You can block this or time your rolls to each spin.
Sword Lunge - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Sword Lunge: The Black Flame Twin rushes forward and tries to strike you with his sword. Roll forward as he lunges at you.
Sword Slam - Fell Twins - Elden Ring
Sword Slam: The Black Flame Twin's sword starts lighting up before he swipes at you then slams it to the ground. The slam is delayed so be patient with your second roll.
