30 Hours for the Main Storyline

According to an interview with FromSoftware, the main story of Elden Ring will take around 30 hours to complete. However, it was noted during the interview that due to Elden Ring's open world layout, actual playthroughs of the game may vary by many hours depending on how much exploring each player does.

Dozens of Extra Hours for Side Quests and Dungeons

Despite the main game being around 30 hours, FromSoftware has ensured players that the open world of Elden Ring will offer much more content aside from the main questline. The map in Elden Ring will be the biggest area ever created in FromSoftware's history and will offer dozens of optional dungeons, bosses, NPCs, and side quests to do aside from the main story.

While not officially confirmed, if Elden Ring follows the pattern of its predecessors such as Dark Souls, we can expect DLC to be released some point after the game is out. If Elden Ring also receives DLC, we can expect new areas, bosses, and weapons to be included.
