Keep Your Distance

Summon Noble Sorcerer Ashes

Noble Sorcerer Ashes can provide additional damage while you're fighting Stonedigger Troll. Noble Sorcerer Ashes can take Stonedigger Troll's attention away from you, giving you a chance to heal.

Position yourself behind its feet

The Stonedigger Troll is slow and has long wind-ups for its attacks, giving you lots of time to dodge. When you see Stonedigger Troll bringing its club down, dodge sideways or backwards and always try to position yourself behind it. Stonedigger Troll also does foot stomps, which are easily avoided by dodging away.

Equipping Ordovis' Greatsword and charging up the Ordovis' Vortex skill deals great damage.

Perform a critical attack on its head when it falls

Focus on dealing damage to its legs. Doing so will make Stonedigger Troll topple over onto its belly. Once on the ground, run up to its head and hit attack to perform a critical strike that deals a large amount of damage.

Guard Counter stomps

Bringing a decent shield to this boss battle can be a lifesaver, because, while its attacks are slow, they can deal heavy damage if not dealt with properly. Turn defense into a fast offensive move by guard countering Stonedigger Troll's stomps.

How to Guard Counter

Can block shockwaves from heavy slams

Stonedigger Troll will smash the ground with its club, sending shockwaves that can deal damage and knock you off your feet. If you bring a medium or heavy shield to the battle, you can actually throw that up to absorb most or all incoming damage.

Stonedigger Troll Attack Patterns

Foot Stomp

Stonedigger Troll - Foot Stomp

Stonedigger Troll raises its foot and stomps down on the ground. Easily evaded with a dodge in any direction.

Club Swipe

Stonedigger Troll - Club Swipe

Usually a follow-up to its foot stomp attack, Stonedigger Troll swipes horizontally with its club. Evade it by dodging forward in between its legs.

Club Smash

Stonedigger Troll smashes down with its club. Evade this attack by getting behind Stonedigger Troll. This move is sometimes used as a after foot stomp and club swipe combo.

Charged Club Smash

Stonedigger Troll - Charged Club Smash
A powerful downward smash wherein Stonedigger Troll lifts its club above its head and visibly charges up for an attack. This attack does AoE damage in a wide area. You can evade this either by retreating far away, or dodge rolling at the exact moment of impact.

Quadruple Club Smash Combo

Stonedigger Troll - Quadruple Club Smash

This is a deadly combo that is made up of four Club Smashes done in quick succession. Avoid this move by staying behind Stonedigger Troll at all times.

Club Raise

Stonedigger Troll will do a Club Smash at the ground, then violently lift it up. This attack may be performed after the quadruple club smash combo.

Hand Swipe

Stonedigger Troll - Hand Swipe

Stonedigger Troll will do a horizontal swipe with its free hand. He can either swipe to the left or to the right. Dodge in any direction, but preferably forward, in between its legs.

Troll Flurry Attack

Stonedigger Troll lets out a shout before initiating this attack, which is similar to the quadruple club smash combo, but the swings are much heavier, and there's a fifth delayed strike. Dodge inward before the third strike hits to easily avoid the fourth slam and subsequent shockwaves (the second shockwave pops when it lifts the club from the ground).
