"A Blood Oath incantation, granted by the Lord of Blood.

Engulfs armament held in the right hand with bloodflame.
This incantation can be cast while in motion.

After dealing damage, bloodflame continues to build up onset of blood loss for a very short time."

How to Use Bloodflame Blade

Bloodflame Blade is a Blood Incantation that grants the user the ability to temporarily imbue their right-hand weapon in bloodflame for 60 seconds. Attacking enemies with your weapon will deal Fire damage and will cause the buildup of blood loss for a short period.

How to Use Bloodflame Blade

Buff Damage of your Attacks

Elden Ring - Buff Damage of your Attacks
This spell can be used to buff the damage of your attacks by being able to deal fire damage and buildup blood loss against your enemies. Successfully hitting your enemies while this spell is active stacks a total of 40 bleed over a very short period. It does, however, have a slow casting time that will leave you open to attacks and it is recommended to cast this spell before you initiate a fight to avoid taking damage.

Bloodflame Blade can also be applied on certain weapon skills and other off-hand weapons that it is compatible with. Try using it on Crossbows with bleed bolts and the Glintblade Phalanx weapon skill works well with it as well. Another good weapon skill to pair with this spell is the Spinning Slash.

Effective When Applied to a Default Bleed Weapon

This spell is most effective when applied to a buffable weapon that has a default blood loss buildup passive, for example the Grave Scythe and Uchigatana.

Bloodflame Blade can't be used on weapons that have affinity infusions via whetblades such as Cold or Blood.

Damage Can be Buffed with Additional Equipment

Bloodflame Blade is best paired with the Lord of Blood's Exultation as it will boost the damage of your physical attacks and spells by 20% when bleed is applied in the vicinity.

Since this is a Fire-based Incantation, it will greatly benefit from the effects of the Fire Scorpion Charm but keep in mind that while this talisman is equipped, your damage negation is lowered.
