The Onyx Lord can be found deep within the Sealed Tunnel in Altus Plateau. The path to the end of the tunnel is obscured by several Illusory Walls that you will need to attack to reveal the way.

Onyx Lord is one of the easier bosses to fight in this region, as it is easily staggered by two-handed strong or jumping attacks, making its moves interruptible. Tackle this boss first before moving on to the central region of Leyndell, Royal Capital.

Onyx Lord has fairly low poise, so it's possible to interrupt its attacks using two-handed strong attacks and jump attacks or simply by using large weapons.
Onyx Lord moves relatively slowly so it will be quite easy to perform Guard Counters against this boss. This is a good way to get Onyx Lord to stagger, making it open to critical attacks.
How to Guard Counter
Barricade Shield is a good shield skill to use, as it reduces stamina lost when blocking, making it much easier to use Guard Counters on this boss.
