This is a guide to one-handed weapon playstyles and being able to use Ashes of War skills with a shield in Elden Ring. Read on to know how to remove your shield's skill and use your right hand skill with a shield on!

Use the “No Skill” Ash of War
The No Skill Ash of War allows you to remove an equipment's weapon skill. This can allow your right hand weapon to use its weapon skill even with a left hand shield equipped!
No Skill Ash of War Location and Compatible Weapons
Optimize your Shield's Ability
If you're not a shield parry user, removing the skill entirely will serve you better, especially if you have a parry shield with a good block rate. Removing it will allow you to keep your guard up permanently while still having the ability to unleash a skill you have prepared.
Can Only Be Applied to Torches and Shields
No Skill cannot be applied on your damaging weapons and only on shields with torches as the only exception of being an offensive weapon due to its primary nature of being a left hand weapon for illuminating dark areas.
