Where to Find

Bloody Finger Nerijus an Invader NPC who will appear at the far end of the Agheel River the first time you approach Murkwater Cave. A message will appear onscreen announcing its arrival, and you won't be able to enter Murkwater Cave until it's defeated.

Clear out the skeletons under the bridge first

You may find yourself backing up toward the bridge for the length of the fight, so clear out the skeletons that spawn under the bridge before starting this boss battle. They'll respawn if you don't strike them once they've collapsed.

Use Nerijus's long entrance time to fire off attacks

Bloody Finger Nerijus will take some time to make its way to you, so use this opportunity to fire off some magic attacks. Now would also be a good time to start backing up toward the bridge where you entered.

Be prepared for Nerijus to switch targets quickly

Just because you're keeping your distance doesn't mean Nerijus won't attack. Even if Yura is keeping the boss distraced, Nerijus will switch to you without warning and fire off a blood shot from its dagger.

Don't get greedy on offense

Nerijus is fast. It will dodge and roll like a pro, and its powerful dagger will drop you in an instant if you succumb to Blood Loss. When Nerijus does miss an attack, strike quickly once, then get ready to dodge its next attack.

Synch up your attacks with Yura to stun Nerijus

The key to beating Nerijus is getting your attacks timed right with Yura, the NPC who comes to your aid shortly after Nerijus appears. Delay the fight until Yura appears, then land your strikes just after Yura attacks. If you get the rhythm down, Nerijus won't be able to attack.

Nerijus is open to backstabs and stunlocks when healing

When Nejirus's health gets low enough, it will drink a flask to heal back up. This leaves the boss open to backstabs or being stunlocked if you attack in tandem with Yura.

Bloody Finger Nerijus Attack Patterns

Blood Loss

Bloody Finger Nerijus's dagger, Reduvia, will cause Blood Loss (Hemorrhaging) for each attack that lands (even when blocked with a shield). A meter will appear on the screen when this happens. When the meter gets filled completely, it will cause huge damage.

Dagger Swipe

A speedy, basic swiping attack. Bloody Finger Nerijus's dagger is powerful and can inflict Bleed (a status condition that will build up and cause damage), so even the smallest attacks should be avoided.

Blood Shot

If you get too far from Bloody Finger Nerijus, it will shoot a wave of blood from its dagger. This attack is best avoided by strafing right or left, as it can pierce your shield and inflict Bleed.

Jumping Swipe

Bloody Finger Nerijus's easiest attack to handle. If the Bleed meter is low (if you haven't been taking other damage or blocking its other attacks), it's safe to use your shield to block this attack. You can follow up with a counter by pressing R2 if you've timed it right.

Triple Swipe

Rarely used, but deadly if it lands as you will become stun-locked and unable to counter.

Heal

Bloody Finger Nerijus will drink from a flask once its health is depleted about halfway. Take this opportunity to land a heavier attack, then a series of faster attacks. This should be the beginning of the end for the boss if you synch your attacks with Yura.
