Fight at Level 70+

Tips for Beating Wormface

Unequip Your Weapons and Armor

Elden Ring - Naked Mimic Tear.png

The easiest way to defeat the Mimic Tear is by unequipping your weapons, armor, and talismans before entering the boss arena. The Mimic Tear will then copy your character, forcing it to spawn naked without any weapons and armor and resort to attacking you with weak punches and throwing glass shards.

You can then simply requip your armor, weapons, and talismans and overpower the Mimic Tear.

Trick the Mimic Tear Using Harmful Weapons

Another way to defeat the Mimic Tear is by equipping a weapon that inflicts self damage to the user. The easiest way to do this is by equipping a Katana with the Sepukku Ash of War skill.

Once the Mimic Tear copies you, it will periodically use the Seppuku skill. You can then simply avoid its attacks and wait for it to kill itself with the weapon skill.

Use Weapons and Spells that Inflict Deathblight

The Mimic Tear is one of the few bosses in the game that is susceptible to the Death Blight status, which normally only affects players and certain human enemies.

The Eclipse Shotel's Death Flare skill inflicts this status along with the Fia's Mist sorcery and Death Lightning incantation. As the Mimic Tear has no way to mitigate this status effect, it will instantly die once the status procs.
