Scaly Misbegotten can be found in Morne Tunnel, which is at the center of the Weeping Peninsula in Limgrave.

You are ready for this boss if you've already completed majority the dungeons in both West and East Limgrave. We suggest tackling this boss as practice before heading to Castle Morne, as a few Scaly Misbegottens will appear there as regular enemies.

Scaly Misbegotten has very slow swings, so it's a safe boss to use Guard Counter against. Just make sure you always have full stamina whenever you attempt this.
Scaly Misbegotten is vulnerable to backstabs, so try to get behind it, then press attack for a powerful critical hit. It will be easier to get behind him right at the end of its combo string. Keep on dodging its attacks to get behind it effectively.
Piercing weapons work well against Scaly Misbegotten. This boss is slightly weak to Fire, so apply Fire Grease on your weapon for extra damage. Faith builds would also benefit from using Incantations like Catch Flame, Flame Sling, and O, Flame!.
