Recommended Level Lv.70

To reach the Valiant Gargoyle boss fight, first you must have defeated Radahn. After defeating Radahn a star will fall, opening up an entryway to Nokron, the Eternal City.

To reach Nokron, the Eternal City, warp to the Mistwood Outskirts site of Grace in Limgrave and head south. You will see boulders floating in the air. Descend into the pit below that to enter Nokron, the Eternal City.

Next proceed through the area and fight the Mimic Tear boss. After that, go across the long bridge and take a left to find the Ancestral Woods site of grace.

From the Ancestral Woods site of grace head Northeast until you see Jellyfish. Follow the Jellyfish trail to a ledge you can drop down to to find the Aqueduct Facing Cliffs site of Grace. From there drop down and proceed through the short area leading to the boss arena.

Fight at Level 70+

Since this is a rather difficult double boss fight, it's recommended to be at least level 70 going into it. Dealing with two targets means it's easy to take a hit from unexpected attacks. Having extra health and defense will improve your odds of success.

Note that for beating this boss you get the Gargoyle's Twinblade and Gargoyle's Greatsword. The Gargoyle's Twinblade is arguably the best twinblade in the game and if you want to get it as early as possible, you can come here immediately after beating Radahn, although it may be harder to clear if your level is below 70.

Tips for Beating Valiant Gargoyles

Use Mimic Tear Ashes

Since there are two Valiant Gargoyles, why not make two of yourself to even the odds? The Mimic Tear Ashes are found in close proximity to this boss fight. From the Ancestral Woods site of grace, drop down and platform across the rooftops. After looping around and crossing a narrow crumbled walkway, the Mimic Tear Ashes will be found behind a Stonesword Key fog wall in a chest guarded by an enemy.

Keep in mind you will need to level the Mimic Tear Ashes up a bit for higher survivability. If you already have another leveled up, you can also use that to divide the attention of the two Valiant Gargoyles.

Focus On Attacking One Target

As with all fights with multiple targets, eliminating them one at a time is highly recommended. Switching targets will mean that you have to deal with both of their attacks for a longer amount of time. Focus on finishing off the half health Gargoyle before dealing with the second one.

Prepare a Poison Heal Option

The Valiant Gargoyles have a poison breath attack, so having a way to heal the poison is highly recommended. The Incantation Flame, Cleanse Me is a good option if you don’t want to farm for consumable poison heals.

Don’t Use Lock-On

Locking-on for larger targets and multiple enemy fights is generally advised against as it makes it harder to see what the enemies are doing. Also depending on your weapon and attack, locking onto the Gargoyles may cause your attacks to miss entirely. If you are using a weapon with shorter range, it’s best to manually aim the camera up such that your attacks are more likely to land.
