Check IconShoot him down when he locks into his Swinging Flail Combo

Shoot him down when he locks into his Swinging Flail Combo

This is a slow attack that he will lock into once started, so keep your distance and fire spells or arrows. When he's not locked into this attack, he's quite good at dodging ranged attacks, so use this opportunity to do most of your damage to him.

Melee Strategy

Aggro the boss away from any ground on fire

Adan will cast multiple Flame of the Fell God spells, covering the area in fire and making it difficult to get in close enough for an attack. The best thing to do when he's focused on casting spells is to run up to him and bait him into ditching spells in favor of his flail. The fight is much easier when you don't have to worry about constant explosions.

Focus on landing heavy attacks after his Swinging Flail Combo

Use jumping heavy strikes on Adan's head once he gets his final swing out. This is the most reliable strategy for chunking his health down, as he won't be able to dodge if you time your jump

Adan, Thief of Fire Attack Patterns

Fire Attacks

Fire Attack Variations
Flame of the Fell God
Flame of the Fell God: Adan summons a fireball that slowly floats toward you. It will then suddenly expand upon getting closer, then explode, covering the ground in flames. The radius and damage of this attack are both incredible, but it generally serves as a distraction for the whole fight. If you stay back far enough, he will keep repeating this attack, which you don't want to happen. Instead, run up to him and hit him with a light attack when you notice him cast the spell, then start wheeling backward to avoid the explosion.
Fire Burst
Fire Burst: An extremely fast and powerful burst of flames that Adan will use if you get close when he is summoning his Flame of the Fell God. This attack is very hard to predict, so generally only approach him from the sides when he is conjuring his other spell.

Blade Attacks

Blade Attack Variations
Swinging Flail Combo
Swinging Flail Combo: A long, drawn out series of mace swings. Adan will get locked into this move and slowly make his way toward you, finishing with either a spin or leaping strike. If Adan performs the leaping version, initiate your own jumping heavy attack before he lands. He won't have time to respond, and you should be able to sneak in another light attack from the side. Ideally, you want to move in close enough, then back up quickly to try and bait him into doing this attack instead of letting him fill the area with fire from the Flame of the Fell God spell.
Overhead Smash
Overhead Smash: Adam swings his flail into the ground with a powerful arc. Luckily, his flail attacks are easy to predict, so just be prepared to roll to the side. Like his other flail attack, this leaves him open on his sides. He is suprisingly nimble on his feet, so it may be difficult to get behind him for a backstab, so settle for hitting him on the sides.

Healing Flask

Healing Flask Information
Healing Flask
Healing Flask: Adan will heal himself from a Healing Flask when his HP bar has reached around 50%. Use this opportunity to run up to him and strike him on the side.
