How to Get to Stormveil Castle

Stormveil Castle is located on the northwest corner of Limgrave. Open your map and follow the golden trail made by the Sites of Grace in the region. This will lead you to Stormveil Castle, but you'll have to beat Margit, the Fell Omen first before you can proceed.

Passing through Limgrave

1	Exit the building and follow the path until you cross the bridge to the north
2	Enter the next area and approach the statue to start the boss battle against the Grafted Scion The story will proceed even if you lose in this fight. ▶ Can you Beat the Tutorial Boss? | How to Beat Grafted Scion
2.5	If you managed to beat the Grafted Scion, exit to your right and follow the path until you reach the cliff to fall down, die, and proceed through the tutorial
3	After the cutscene, drop down the cliff where the sitting phantom is and pass through the cave to continue the tutorial
4	Pass through the fog to the next area and defeat the Soldier of Godrick This is a much easier boss than the first one so take your time to master the combat basics. ▶ How to Beat Soldier of Godrick
5	After defeating the boss, continue onward until you reach the area where you fell from earlier, then exit the building to reach Limgrave
6	Before exploring the rest of Limgrave, be sure to prioritize reaching the Site of Grace at Gatefront to meet Melina With Melina, you can use Runes to level up your character and increase attributes. 7	Head northwest while activating more Sites of Grace until you reach Stormhill, where you'll fight Margit, the Fell Omen ▶ How to Beat Margit the Fell Omen

Stormveil Castle Objectives

8	After defeating Margit the Fell Omen, proceed to the castle gate ▶ How to Beat Margit the Fell Omen
9	Ascend the stairs and activate the Site of Grace at the gate
10	Enter the room on your left and exit on the other side
11	Jump on the ledge to your right, walk along the narrow path up, and drop down to a small area
12	Go right to find a Site of Grace, climb up the slope, and enter the first tower that you'll see
13	Enter the room on your right and climb the ladders until you reach a narrow passage You'll have to climb a total of 3 sets of stairs to reach the narrow path blocked by wooden barrels. You will run into a lot of enemies in this area, so utilize the roll action to dodge their attacks and destroy the barrels along the way.
14	From the narrow passage, take the stairs to the upper floor, then grab the Rusty Key from the room to your right. If you can't beat the knight, you can just grab the key in the room, get yourself killed, then return here to retrieve your Runes. The door will be unlocked on your next trip.
15	Drop down the hole nearby to unlock the room and climb the ladder inside
16	Once at the top, follow the path ahead of you until you get back outside.
17	Climb the stairs on your left, re-enter the castle, and head to the upper floor where you can find a Site of Grace
18	Exit the room and proceed north until reach the stairs leading down to a roof that you can walk on The eagles that you will run into at the plaza attack fast so it's best to ignore them, even if you get hit. They have low HP and will go down just as fast, so if you're confident with your abilities or if you want to test them out, you can take them on instead.
19	Walk along the roof to the tower nearby then climb down the ladder at the end of the path
20	Enter the room on your right, take the narrow path on the other side, and follow the path to get back outside
21	Go through the next door ahead to reach a dining hall, then from there, pass through the narrow path to your east and go down the floor below
22	Run north while ignoring the enemies in the room to reach a plaza
23	Pass through the plaza and continue making your way north until you reach a room with a Site of Grace You can break the rectangular wooden barricades at the plaza by rolling through them.
24	Go back outside, but this time, head east until you find a giant guarding the stairs You can also find a Golden Seed on the curve leading to the giant.

Defeat Margit the Fell Omen

Before you can even approach the castle gates, you have to defeat Margit the Fell Omen. His tail is where he is most vulnerable so try to distract him with your Spirit Summons and riposte him from the back.

Run Past the Eagles

The eagles that you'll encounter in Stormveil Castle are difficult to hit and they're attacks are hard to dodge. If you're having a hard time taking them out, try to dodge their attacks. especially the explosive barrels, with rolls while running past them. They're quite squishy, so if you're confident that you can dodge or endure their attacks, take them head on and they'll die in a few hits.

Watch Out for Fire Pots

If you decide to infiltrate Stormveil Castle from the side, you'll run into a room filled with Fire Pot-throwing enemies. Don't rush through the area and wait for them to throw or roll into the barrels to break them before pressing on.

Get the Rusty Key

In the same area as the one with Fire Pot-throwing enemies, you can find the Rusty Key inside a room upstairs. You will be trapped inside the room with a knight upon entering. If you can't beat the knight, just quickly grab the key inside, get yourself killed, and retrieve your runes from this room. The room will be unlocked upon your return.

You can then use the Rusty Key on the locked door below to reach the rest of the castle.

Roll into the Wooden Barricades

The courtyard of the castle is swarming with enemies and mounted ballistae. Avoid fighting any of them and focus on running to your next destination while timing your rolls. There will also be barricades, but you can pass through the rectangular wooden segments by rolling into them.

Defeat Godrick the Grafted

You will fight against Godrick the Grafted at the back of the castle, before you reach the next region. He is an Elden Lord that uses wind attacks during the first phase and adds fire attacks during the second phase. If you find him tough to beat, you can go back outside the castle for now to farm runes and strengthen your weapons.

Restore Godrick's Great Rune

After defeating Godrick the Grafted and obtaining the Godrick Great Rune, you can take it at the top of the Divine Tower of Limgrave to restore its power. Restoring Great Runes will allow you to equip them and receive stat bonuses.

Smithing Stones at Limgrave Tunnels

If you need some Smithing Stones to strengthen your weapon, you can make a detour to Limgrave Tunnels and grab all the Smithing Stones inside. Limgrave Tunnels is located east of Gatefront Ruins.

Hookclaws for Dex builds

If you're running on a Dex build, consider getting the Hookclaws inside the Stormveil Castle. You can find it in the same area as the Rusty Key. Head to the basement and enter the room past the first staircase to find the Hookclaws in the upper-left corner.

For players going for an Str build, you can grab the Greatsword from a carriage at Caelid. You can find it near the Site of Grace of Rotview Balcony.

Uchigatana for Dex builds

If your character specializes in Dex, you can also get an Uchigatana from a corpse inside Deathtouched Catacombs. If you chose the Samurai class, getting this weapon allows you to dual wield Uchigatanas for increased damage output and faster blood loss build up!

Reduvia Dagger for Arc builds

Reduvia Dagger can be obtained by defeating Bloody Finger Nerijus, an Invader NPC that appears in front of Murkwater Cave. Eventually, Bloody Finger Hunter Yura will appear to help you fight the Invader, so if you are struggling to defeat him, try running away and survive until help arrives.

From Gatefront Ruins, head east along the path, then go down the hill to find the entrance to Murkwater Cave, where you will encounter the NPC.

This weapon can build up blood loss quickly and requires 13 points in Arcane to use.

Meteorite Staff for Int builds

If you specialize in intelligence, get the Meteorite Wand in the ruins of the Sage Street near the Smoked Wall of Calid. Kayrid's enemies are strong, so ignore small fish enemies and proceed.

For Int players, you can get the Meteorite Staff in the Street of Sages Ruins at Caelid. The ruins is quite far from Limgrave and Caelid is filled with powerful enemies, so try to run past them and head straight for the staff.

Great Turtle Shield for Shield Users

You can find one of the best shields in the game, the Great Turtle Shield, by having Torrent jump to the top of a tower in Castle Morne Rampart. This castle is found on the east side of Weeping Peninsula.
