How to Beat Wormface: Boss Fight Guide

You can find Wormface at the base of the Minor Erdtree at the Altus Plateau. You can access the area by heading down the broken Forest-Spanning Bridge.

When to Fight Wormface

You can fight Wormface as soon as you get to the Altus Plateau and heading directly to the Minor Erdtree.

Fight at Level 70+

While Wormface is relatively weak compared to other bosses in the region, it's a surprisingly mobile enemy that can deal a lot of damage with its physical attacks that also build up the Instant Death status.

Level your character to at least Level 70 so you can quickly dispatch the boss with your attacks.

Use your Mount for Added Mobility

Wormface walks slowly but can quickly sprint to close the distance and follow up with a sweeping or smashing attack. Make sure to ride Torrent, especially if using Ranged Attacks, so you can quickly evade the boss.

Avoid its Ranged Attacks

Wormface's ranged attacks can stagger and inflict the Deathblight that can cause Instant Death. Fortunately, the boss has a noticeable cue before it uses these attacks. Start circling around the boss once you see and hear Wormface coughing to avoid its deadly ranged attacks.

Use Slash Attacks

Wormface is very weak against slashing attacks. Consider switching to a slashing weapon if using melee to quickly dispatch the boss.

Have Deathblight Curing Items

Most of Wormface's attacks leave deathblight-inducing mists that will quickly build up the Instant Death status. You can reduce the build up by equipping the Prince of Death's Pustule Talisman or by using the Order Healing incantation.

Use Spirit Ashes to Summon Spirits

Most spirit ashes are immune to the Instant Death status, making them valuable allies during this fight as they can get up close to Wormface when it uses its deathblight attacks.

Fast Spirit Ashes such as the Lone Wolf and Rotten Stray are great options for this fight as they can quickly deal a lot of damage to Wormface.

Don't Use the Mimic Tear

Although a Spirit Ash, the Mimic Tear is susceptible to deathblight build up and will die to the Instant Death status if it gets hit by Wormface's attacks.
