How to Add Strength Scaling to Weapons

Use the Iron or Red-Hot Whetblades

Whetblade Effect
Elden Ring - Iron WhetbladeIron Whetblade Heavy Affinity:
・Grants Strength scaling.
Quality Affinity:
・Grants split Strength and Dexterity scaling.
Elden Ring - Red-Hot WhetbladeRed-Hot Whetblade Fire Affinity:
・Grants Strength scaling.
・Adds Fire Damage.

If you want to give your weapons Strength scaling, you will need to obtain and use either the Iron Whetblade from Stormveil Castle or the Red-Hot Whetblade from Redmane Castle.

Once you get either of the two, you will be able to add either a Heavy, Quality, or Fire affinity to your weapon. Naturally, when applying a Fire affinity, your weapon will also get Fire damage.

Weapon Stat Scaling Explained

Imprint Ashes of War with Heavy, Quality, or Flame Art Affinites

Ashes of War that have Heavy (e.g., Lion's Claw), Quality (e.g., Giant Hunt), or Fire (e.g., Flame of the Redmanes) affinities will give your weapon Strength scaling when imprinted.

If you're using a Strength build but don't have access to the Iron or Red-Hot Whetblades, then Ashes of War with a Heavy, Quality, or Fire affinity are your best bet for adding early game Strength scaling.
