Where to Find Map Fragments

Altus Plateau

There are three ways to get into Altus Plateau: One is by passing through the Grand Lift of Dectus at the northeastern part of Liurnia of the Lakes. The second way is by ascending the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, also at the northeastern part of Liurnia.

The third method requires you to die via the Abductor Virgin's grab attack, which you can find by taking the giant elevator at Raya Lucaria all the way down. Doing this will transport you to a section under Volcano Manor. Note that this third option locks you out from fast traveling out of this area until you can defeat the two Abductor Virgin bosses.

Once you've made it onto Altus Plateau, head northeast and you will find the map fragment on a monument by the road.

Leyndell, Royal Capital

To get to this fragment, you must ride on Torrent and run straight to the east, up the grand stone walkway. There will be several enemies and arrows being fired at you. Keep to the center of the path and keep on running to avoid getting hit. You will find a Site of Grace at the very end, past some large doors. The map fragment will be on a monument very close to it.

Mount Gelmir

This fragment will be the trickiest to get to. First, make your way to the north of Altus Plateau, past the Minor Erdtree. Then circle around to the south west, discovering Sites of Grace along the way.

Keep on going till you reach the spot on the map marked with an X. Climb the ladder there to the top. Then, keep on making your way westward, hopping onto rock bridges and climbing more ladders. The map fragment for Mount Gelmir will be found along the path, in a cave-looking structure.

Altus Plateau Sacred Tears and Golden Seeds

Sacred Tears increase the potency of your Flasks, while Golden Seeds increase your Flask's number of uses. These are two very useful bolstering items that will help keep you alive longer.

Near Volcano Manor

To enter the Volcano Manor, you need to climb up Mount Gelmir. Head up to Fort Laiedd and stick close to the left wall as you pass through. Once you have climbed the ladder, follow the path and cross over to the other side from the protruding rocks to reach the manor.

Alternatively, you can take the elevator to the bottom level of the Academy of Raya Lucaria and die to one of the large iron maiden-like enemy with sawblades for arms. Doing so will transport you to the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber, an area beneath the Volcano Manor.

Note that you are required to fight two of the same enemies that have abducted you in a boss fight to escape the area. In addition, fast travel is not available until you have defeated the bosses.
