Sidon of the Zora Part 1 Walkthrough |
---|
Mipha Court is found on top of Ploymus Mountain. An easy way to climb it is through the dam east of Zora's Domain and south of Mikau Lake. Take the stairs up to East Reservoir Lake.
Walk northeast until you see thorns on the ground just next to the entrance of Ploymus Mountain Cave. Burn the thorns with a Fire Fruit then use Ascend on the rocks above them.
Go up the slope on your left (northeast) and follow the winding path until you reach Mipha Court. Talk to Sidon to learn more about the situation.
Jiahto is at Toto Lake which is located northwest of Mipha Court. Head there and find the opening on the west side of the lake where Jiahto is investigating a broken slate.
Talk to Jiahto to start the The Broken Slate Main Quest and learn what you need to do next.

Toto Lake is located directly north of Zora's Domain and northwest of Ploymus Mountain. If you already have the Zora Armor, you can just swim up the waterfall on the north to reach the Lake.
You'll find Jiahto in a small cave west of the lake, where you can talk to him to start The Broken Slate side quest. You can also find the Broken Slate just outside of this cave on top of a rock and covered in sludge.

Glide (or teleport) back down to Mipha Court and report to Sidon, who is talking to Lady Yona.
Just as you're about to head to the pillar of light with Sidon, a Sludge Like will rudely interrupt your departure. Defeat the miniboss with Sidon.
Perfect timing for learning how to use your newly obtained ability. Get close to Sidon and press the A button to have him put up a water barrier around you.
Swinging your weapon while the barrier is up sends out a wave that will wash off the sludge from the miniboss on hit, making it vulnerable.
Wait for the Sludge Like to expose its weakpoint then shoot it with an arrow. Unleash your attacks while it's down until it recovers. Rinse and repeat.
The next objective requires the Zora Armor that you had repaired (prior to the events of the game), but the restoration still needs one more material to complete.
Talk to Yona and complete the Restoring the Zora Armor Main Quest to receive the armor and gain the ability to swim up waterfalls.

Sidon of the Zora Part 3 Walkthrough |
---|
Head south from Mipha Court to Shatterback Point and look at the center of East Reservoir Lake to find the light pillar. Sidon will be waiting for you on one of the debris near it.
Talk to him for a cutscene and a secret entrance.
Navigate the Ancient Zora Waterworks |
---|
Jump down the lake and swim towards the center of the whirlpool. You will dive down automatically upon reaching the light pillar.
Head straight across to the other side of the room and unblock the pipe to raise the water level. The rocks blocking the pipe can only be destroyed by hammer-type weapons.
You can Fuse one of your weapons with a rock (there are some rocks around where you entered) to make one.
Continue to the east path until you arrive at the Ancient Zora Waterworks. Look to your left to find another blocked pipe.
Grab a board so you can reach it then destroy the rocks to further raise the water.
Swim over to the right side of the room to find yet another blocked pipe. The rocks are deep inside the pipe, so you'll have to climb up.
You can either create a bridge using the boards nearby, or raise a board near the opening using Ultrahand before riding it up with Recall.
Go back to the left side again and up until you see a smaller pipe. Jump into the opening, head straight, turn right, then left.
Use Ascend on the grate where the water is flowing. Break the rocks blocking the last pipe to raise the water once more, making the light pillar finally reachable.
Climb the nearby ladder and use Ultrahand to move the lever at the end of the path. Dive down and touch the mark at the base of the pillar.
The watery bridge is now found.
Reach the Water Temple |
---|
Follow Sidon to the sky island by swimming up the waterfall, which can only be done with the Zora Armor equipped.
In Wellspring Island (try jumping!), follow the path north until you run into Sidon. Talk to him to proceed.
Behind you is a Zonai device that creates water orbs you can ride to the next platform. The next devices produce smaller orbs. Ride an orb from the first device and let it carry you up. When it starts glowing, quickly swim out and glide to the next orb. Do this until you reach the east platform.
Two Soldier Construct III await you in this platform. You can either fight them for their items or sneak past them.
Further to the east is a sludge-covered path with a pair of hydrants nearby.
Take one of the hydrants with you and use it to clear the path north until you reach the floating platform covered in sludge. A (dirty) waterfall will be revealed after washing away the sludge.
You'll notice that the other platforms are far from your current position. What you need to do is glide towards one of the waterfalls and swim up through it.
Make your way to the larger platform northwest.
Grab a wing and place it on the launcher at the end of the path. Hop on the wing and from here, shoot the orange switch on your left.
After a few seconds, the wing will get launched towards the next platform, but you should jump and glide off it as it won't actually reach the other side.
Go up the stairs and head for the waterfall on the other side. There's a Captain Construct II here that you can ignore or fight for more items.
Swim up the waterfall then glide to the next waterfall on the west side.
Keep on swimming up from waterfall to waterfall until you reach the island with the three waterfalls.
Climb the walls on the right side to the upper floor. There are water orbs moving towards the ledge that you can ride back to their origin with Recall.
Almost there! Take one of the slabs and place it by the debris where the water orbs stop. Make sure it's slanted so it redirects the orbs up.
Now, swim into a water orb and wait for it to reach its highest point. Quickly swim out when it starts to glow and glide to the next platform.
In the next area, attach fans on a wing, then attach this makeshift plane to a cart. Place it at the base of the slope and use it to reach the island above where you will reunite with Sidon.
Follow him further up to another large waterfall.
Swim up the waterfall to reach the Water Temple. Clear the temple by defeating the Mucktorok within to complete the quest and receive the Vow of Sidon, Sage of Water.
With all the indicated regions visited, you should now report back to Purah about what you discovered.
