Robbie Profile and Backstory

TOTK - Robbie Profile and Backstory

Robbie is returning to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as a researcher of ancient technology. Read on for details on Robbie's backstory from Breath of the Wild, character traits, as well as his role in Tears of the Kingdom.

Robbie's Role in Tears of the Kingdom

Gives Link the Travel Medallion

In recent gameplay previews, Robbie is shown to be the one to give Link the Travel Medallion. Link first obtains this item in a treasure chest underneath Lomei Labyrinth as part of a DLC sidequest called EX Teleportation Rumors in Breath of the Wild.

The Travel Medallion allows Link to fast travel to any point where you manually place it on the map. It works like a Shrine or a Sheikah Tower, however you can remove and place the fast travel point anywhere at any time.

Ancient Zonai Technology Researcher

Given Robbie's comprehension of ancient technology and the emergence of the Zonai ancient technology, we can assume that both Robbie and Purah will be active researchers of the Zonai ancient tech.

He will most likely be helping Link and Zelda understand Zonai technology and it is possible that he can shed some light on the Zonai construct enemies.

Like Purah, Robbie is a Sheikah scientist who specializes in researching ancient technology. Before the Great Calamity, he worked at the Royal Ancient Lab, and his research focuses mainly on Guardians.

Robbie Backstory

Conducted Research with Zelda

Before the Great Calamity, Robbie joined a research team together with his colleague, Purah, to help Princess Zelda research about the ancient technology that can help them prepare for Calamity Ganon's return.

Robbie and the others uncovered the Four Divine Beasts, Ancient Guardians, and many other ancient relics that they tried to restore and master to use against Calamity Ganon.

Director of Akkala Ancient Tech Lab

Studied Ancient Guardians

After their preparations with the Divine Beasts and Guardians failed during the Great Calamity, Robbie escapes and continues to research ancient tech as the director of the Ancient Tech Lab located northeast of the Akkala region.

Robbie was able to defeat surrounding Guardians with ease due to his extensive research about them.

Cherry and Ancient Soldier Gear

Robbie

After years of researching Ancient Guardians, Robbie has successfully found a way to convert Ancient Material into Ancient Soldier Gear using an ancient oven he called Cherry.

Link can give Cherry a set amount of Ancient Material in exchange for gear that allows him to go up against Guardians.

Husband of Jerrin

Totk - Jerrin and Robbie

Robbie married a Hylian woman named Jerrin who assists him with his research. They met when he was 90 years old, and they had a son named Granté.

Jerrin would express some form of resentment towards Cherry, the Ancient Soldier Gear oven, as it was said to be named after Robbie's first love.
