From the shrine, head to the northwestern ledge near the area with the Horriblins on the ceiling of the small pathway.

Gloom Hands will appear once you set foot on the docks, so prepare beforehand if you wish to engage it or stay in the water until it disappears.

Purchase From Hateno Village

Buying the Hylian Shield from Cece's Private Collection

The Hylian Shield can be purchased for 3,000 Rupees from Cece in Hateno Village once you have access to her private collection after completing The Mayoral Election Side Adventure.

This can be a hefty price especially early on in the game, but it is worth buying as it is the most durable shield in the game. This is also the only way to get another Hylian Shield if you break or lose the one obtained in Hyrule Castle.

Do note that the Hylian Shield will be displayed as out of stock in Cece's collection if you already have one Hylian Shield in your inventory.

How to Repair the Hylian Shield

Feed The Hylian Shield To A Rock Octorok

Repair the Hylian Shield by feeding it to a Rock Octorok. You get a shiny and repaired Hylian Shield after the Rock Octorok expels it from its gullet.

Make sure to kill the Rock Octorok after it repairs your shield, as each Rock Octorok can only repair your equipment once per life cycle. You'll have to wait for the next Blood Moon in order to repair your equipment at the same Rock Octorok.
