Time is an important feature in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) as this can influence the difficulty of your gameplay. Read on to learn more about how to pass time and any other methods you can try to do so.
List of Contents
In-game time works much faster compared to real-life time. Every second in real life is one whole minute in-game. Therefore, one full day in Hyrule will only take 24 minutes in real-time.
You can see the in-game clock at the bottom right of the screen next to the map. It also indicates the current weather and predicts the incoming weather of the game.
One of the most notable features of the game that involves time is the occurrence of Blood Moon. It only appears once in every 7 days, exactly at 12:00 AM and it resets every overworld spawns from enemies, ores, and even dropped items.
Keep in mind that forcefully advancing time will not count in the 7 days condition of the Blood Moon. To trigger it, you will have to wait.
Sitting by the campfire is perhaps the most known method to pass time. By interacting with the campfire, you will be prompted to choose how much time do you want to pass. This is also one of the ways to influence day light should you wish to play on either day time or night time.
To set up a campfire, simply drop wood and flint next to each other and then strike the flint with any weapon you have to ignite it.
Cooking Pots found in towns or in front of stables are also good ways to pass time. Interacting with it will also give you a similar prompt that asks you how much time you want to pass.
Keep in mind that this will only work on Cooking Pots found in towns and near stables, as the ones you find in the wild will not let you pass time.

Staying at the inn will also help you pass time. However, choosing to sleep here will cost you Rupees.
