The Blood Moon is a mechanic that allows you to reset all overworld enemies and weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Read on to find out more about the Blood Moon, its trigger conditions, and what happens when it occurs.
List of Contents
As with Breath of the Wild, the Blood Moon only occurs once in every 7 day at 12:00 AM in-game time. You can see the the current time at the bottom right of the screen.
Keep in mind that opening your menu to pass the time will not help you advance it as this actually stops it from passing. So if you want to advance time through idling, look for a nearby town or house instead.
Changing the time of day through campfires will also not help you pass the time. If you're planning to trigger the Blood Moon through this method, it will not work.
Blood Moon respawns all defeated overworld enemies, including bosses like Stone Talus. This is the best method to farm for gems, which you can sell to get Rupees fast.
List of All Enemies
Also during Blood Moon, any weapons dropped will also respawn. If you want to farm specific weapons, this is the best way you can do to get many of them.
Cooking during Blood Moon, specifically between 11:30 PM and 12:15 AM, will mostly be a success. It is highly recommended to take advantage of this boosted success rate to not waste any ingredients you've collected.
