How to Get the Master Sword

Zelda TOTK - How to Get the Master Sword
Getting the Master Sword back requires you to have two stamina wheels and pull it from the Light Dragon's head in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Read on to learn how to restore the Master Sword, its stats, bonus attributes, and the effects of this weapon.

How to Get the Master Sword

Complete the Recovering the Hero's Sword Main Quest

Zelda TotK - Complete the Recovering the Hero
The best way to get the Master Sword is to complete the Recovering the Hero's Sword main quest. This involves going through the Lost Woods and defeating Phantom Ganon inside the Great Deku Tree.

This is the preferred method as it takes less time and you can obtain the Master Sword as early as you can. Doing this quest also lowers the Light Dragon's flight path, making it easier for you to reach it.

This also unlocks a tracker that allows you to see where the Light Dragon is currently on the map. The tracker will disappear after pulling the Master Sword.

Another way to obtain the Master Sword is to find all the Geoglyphs as part of the Dragon's Tears main quest that starts after completing the Impa and the Geoglyphs main quest.

This method is less combat-heavy but takes more time as it requires you to explore all the regions in Hyrule to find all the Geoglyphs.

Pull the Master Sword from the Light Dragon's Head

Zelda TotK - Pull the Master Sword from the Light Dragon

After completing either of the two main quests mentioned above, you can find the Light Dragon in the Sky and pull the Master Sword from its head. Note that you will need at least two stamina wheels to successfully pull the sword.

How to Find the Light Dragon

The footage above shows the Light Dragon's flight path on both the surface and the sky. Using the tracker unlocked during the Recovering the Hero's Sword quest also makes it easier to find the Light Dragon.

The Great Sky Island is an ideal location to wait for and find the Light Dragon. You can then use a Zonai Wing attached with Zonai Fans to reach the Light Dragon by air and land on its body.

What you are saying is no different from telling people stop playing if they collected the champion's leathers before reading Zelda's diary.

For me easy way to get the master sword is to find all glyph locations. Trust me, it is worth the time to find all the glyph locations to get the final tear of the white dragon(it's Zelda ) and see the full story. If you just skip all the parts and just jump into the dragon to get the master sword. You might as well stop playing.
