Tears of the Kingdom - Advanced Combat Tips
There are multiple advanced techniques that Link can perform in order to deal more damage to enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom(BoTW 2). Learn how to use Flurry Rush, Sneakstrike, Parry, and deal massive damage through critical hits.

Advanced Combat Tips

Master Flurry Rush Timing

Breath of the Wild - Flurry Rush
A Flurry Rush is a barrage of attacks that Link can perform if he successfully dodges an enemy's melee attack on time, causing time to slow down temporarily.

Take the Stealthy Approach with Sneakstrike

Breath of the Wild - Sneakstrike
Sneakstrike is an attack that can be performed by sneaking behind the enemy. Once Link is close to the enemy, a prompt will appear to perform a Sneakstrike and when performed, Link attacks with his melee weapon and deals massive damage to the enemy.

It is much easier to perform a Sneakstrike if the enemy is asleep and lying on the floor.

Breath of the Wild - Critical Hit Throw

Weapon Breaking While Attacking

How to Parry

Press A While Holding Your Shield When the Enemy Attacks

With your shield up, press A as soon as the enemy attacks to parry successfully, which is indicated with a blue shockwave and time slows down for a brief moment.

Parrying enemy attacks will cause enemies to be staggered, giving you an opportunity to attack, and it sometimes make enemies drop the weapon they're holding. This also doesn't decrease your shield's durability.

You can also parry ranged attacks, but this is a harder feat to perform, and the enemies won't get staggered if you successfully parried the incoming ranged attack.
