Confusion is a new mechanic in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Learn how to inflict this status to enemies and what happens when an enemy is inflicted with confusion.

A Muddle Bub is a new plant found in the Sky Islands. This can be fused to arrows and probably weapons and shields so that when attacking or blocking enemies also inflicts them with confusion.
When the Muddle Bub comes into contact with something, it will burst and create a cloud that will inflict confusion to those inside it. Fusing them to arrows might be the best option for inflicting confusion at a safe distance from the cloud since it is still unsure whether Link can be inflicted with Confusion and how it will affect him.
It is found that there are throw-able materials in game, such as the Bomb Flower, which acts like a bomb that can be fused to arrows, as well as thrown to enemies! So it's safe to say that the Muddle Bub can also be thrown to enemies rather than fusing it to your arrows.
Confusion is one of many new mechanics added into Tears of the Kingdom, and it is a very useful mechanic when in combat! Enemies inflicted by confusion will attack other nearby enemies as long as the effect's duration does not end. Enemies inflicted with confusion can be distinguished as those who are affected have four small puff clouds circling over their head.
Imagine the chaos you can inflict within groups of enemies as you watch them fight each other! It is still unsure whether the confusion effect will work on larger enemies, but it probably won't work on bosses!
