How to Cure Gloom

Use Sun-Related Ingredients in Dishes

Zelda TotK - Use a Sundelion in Dishes

Sundelions and Sun Pumpkins are plants that grow in the sun at high altitudes in certain areas in the sky and surface. Using these when cooking dishes and consuming the dish will restore Link's depleted health.

It is recommended to farm Sundelions and make them into dishes so Link can always be ready whatever the encounter! Sun Pumpkins won't be available until after you complete the side quest, Homegrown in Hateno.

Gloom Effects

Decreases Maximum Health

When Link is affected with Gloom, it depletes his maximum health, resulting in lesser health indicated by the cracked hearts. This makes Link prone to getting killed in a few hits from enemy attacks or from environmental factors.

It takes about three seconds to deplete one of Link's hearts when stepping on Gloom, most commonly found in Gloom-infested areas, while it instantly depletes when attacked by an enemy affected with Gloom.
