Talk to Rhondson or Hudson at Tarrey Town in the Akkala region to start the Mattison's Independence side adventure. Completing this side adventure unlocks the ability to buy a house in Tarrey Town and start the Home on Arrange side quest.

After completing the side adventure, talk to Rhondson and she will offer you a plot of land and two bonus rooms in Tarrey Town for 1500 Rupees. Purchasing the lot starts the Home on the Arrange side quest.

Use Ultrahand to move, rotate, and attach the rooms together. This gives you the opportunity to get creative and plan the layout of Link's house.

Rooms Must Fit Within the Roped Boundary

Zelda TotK - Rooms Must Fit Within the Roped Boundary

When building the house, you are limited to using the area within the roped boundary.

If you want to swap rooms, you can place the room you do not want to use outside of the rope boundary.

Limit of 15 Rooms

You can only put 15 rooms in Link's house. Make sure to plan carefully which room to add when planning the layout of the house.

What Happened to Link's House in Hateno Village

Zelda Redecorated the House's Interiors

Zelda TotK - Zelda Redecorated the House

Instead of a display of weapons from the previous game, the house's interiors has been redecorated to resemble a simple living room and kitchen space. The walls now include several photos, one of which resembles Zelda on a field of flowers.

Other Facilities Still Available

Although Zelda claimed Link's former house as her own, there are still facilities in the house that you can use as well as new additions.

・Read Zelda's journal to learn of her activities in Hateno Village.
Bed
・Sleep on the bed to restore hearts and pass the time.
Photo of the Four Champions
・A photo of Link and the four Champions will appear on the second floor if you have a Breath of the Wild save file and have completed a set of specific conditions from the previous game.
Cooking Pot
・Cook food and create elixirs or pass the time.
Zelda's Secret Well
・Access Zelda's secret room behind the house.
Zelda's Diary
・Read Zelda's Diary to learn the location of the improved Champion's Tunic.
Well-Worn Hair Band
・Pick up Link's hair band from Breath of the Wild.

You can find Link's Tarrey Town House south of the town near the Rasitakiwak Shrine in the Akkala region.
