Once you're in control of Link, follow Zelda down through an underground area beneath Hyrule Castle.
Continue following the path until you reach a room with Zonai carvings. Enter the next room and defeat the Keeses.

Turn right from the murals and past the breakable pile of rocks to find a passageway covered with malice. Reach the end of the path to start another cutscene.

You will wake up inside the Room of Awakening. Walk up to the Decayed Master Sword and pick it up.
Attack the vines with your only weapon to clear your way to the next room.

Touch the glowing terminal at the center to open the door ahead, as well as activate what appears to be a fast travel point.
Past the unlocked door is a tunnel where you will learn more exploring mechanics such as diving, swimming, and climbing.
After the third dive, check the left side of the room, just before the exit, for a chest containing an Archaic Legwear. Your very first armor piece! Its companion piece, the Archaic Tunic, is found in Pondside Cave.
Fast Travel Guide: How to Warp

Head outside and dive down from the ledge. You can hold the R button to accelerate your fall (unavailable until after the title card appears).

This rather long dive will take you to the Great Sky Island. Swim out of the pond and follow the stone path until you find a seemingly inactive Construct.
Interact with it to meet a Steward Construct, who will give you the Purah Pad and show you your next destination!

As soon as you wake up in the Room of Awakening, you can pull up the System menu by pressing the + button. Here, you can view the basic controls, including character and camera movement, attacking, and interacting. This will be updated as you gain more abilities on your journey!
You can also save your progress and load save files through this menu.

Try to grab any item you come across while exploring, not just in the Great Sky Island, but across the entire map. You might need them later on for cooking dishes with restorative effects and buffs, upgrading gear, quest items, and more! Items don't have an inventory limit so just pick up everything you can!
On the other hand, you can only fit a certain number of equipment—such as weapons, shields, and bows—in your inventory. Still do pick up any usable equipment around especially since they will eventually break and you can always drop them whenever you find better replacements.
Various useful items can be found in the immediate surroundings, including multiple Skyshrooms, Apples, Stamella Shrooms, and Wooden Stick weapons in the hands of Soldier Constructs. The food can be used for cooking later.
