Wolf Link Ally Does Not Appear in Tears of the Kingdom

TotK - Wolf LinkWolf Link amiibo

Scanning the Wolf Link amiibo no longer spawns a Wolf Link ally in Tears of the Kingdom. Instead, you will receive plentiful meat that you can use to cook food with or fuse with weapons.

Non-Zelda amiibo

amiibo unrelated to The Legend of Zelda can also be scanned for random rewards, including both materials and basic weapons and equipment!

Obtain amiibo Exclusive Paraglider Designs

Zelda TotK - Obtain amiibo Exclusive Paraglider Designs

Use amiibo from the Zelda series to obtain exclusive Paraglider designs associated with the amiibo character! There are at least 25 unique designs that you can obtain from each amiibo.

Obtain Epona

Zelda TotK - Obtain Epona
Scanning the Super Smash Bros. Link or the Twilight Princess Link amiibo for the first time summons Epona, Link's trusty steed from the previous Zelda games. Note that Epona is considered as a wild horse, so be sure to scan the amiibo near a stable in order to register and keep her.

How to Get Epona

Obtain Weapons

Zelda TotK - Obtain Exclusive Weapons and Armor
You have a chance of getting weapons when you scan any amiibo. However, scanning an amiibo from the Zelda series gives you a chance to obtain special amiibo weapons associated with the character. It should be noted that these amiibo weapons can also be found in various locations in the game.

List of All Weapons

Obtain Armor Pieces

Zelda series amiibo have a chance to drop special armor pieces and armor sets from previous Zelda games. For example, scanning the Majora's Mask Link amiibo may spawn a treasure chest that contains the Fierce Deity Mask. All of these armor pieces may also be found in various treasure chests in the game.

Obtain Other Materials

All amiibo, both from the Zelda series and otherwise, can drop various materials when scanned. These include ingredients for cooking such as fruits, mushrooms, herbs, and meat. Ore and other non-food materials may also be dropped.

Why Won't the amiibo Item Drop?

amiibo Loot is Random

Zelda TotK - Amiibo Loot is Random
The items you get from each amiibo's treasure chest are completely random and there is no way to increase the drop rate. If you did not obtain the exclusive amiibo item, you will need to change the Switch's system time to scan the same amiibo to try again.

amiibo Loot Pool is Different Depending on Your Game Progress

If you have scanned a single Amiibo repeatedly and still have not found the equipment you are looking for, chances are that you have not progressed far enough in the game to unlock the amiibo's loot pool.

Make sure to progress through the game and obtain the Paraglider in order to increase the rewards you get from scanning amiibo.

Change System Time to Keep Scanning for the amiibo Item

Each Amiibo can only be scanned once per day, so you will need to change your Switch's system time to keep farming for the Amiibo equipment.

If you plan to scan repeatedly to farm amiibo-exclusive equipment, you should first save the game, so you can quickly reload if you don't get the equipment you wanted.

the BotW guardian amiibo gives something unique too, it gives the metal boxes unlike other non zelda amiibo and iirc the ancient sheika paraglider.

Wind Waker and Toon Link will still give Wind Hero set. And if you haven't got the glider fabric from Twilight Link, Wolf Link will have a chance to give you said glider fabric. Afterwards it's just gonna be meat as usual
