Be sure to select the right type of map and toggle between the Sky, Surface, and Depths on the lower left corner for the boss icon to appear.
There are a total of four King Gleeoks in Tears of the Kingdom, located in hard-to-reach areas that will require you to use a lot of stamina or get creative with your Zonai Devices. Three of the King Gleeoks can be found on the Sky Islands, while the other one can be found in the Depths.
Coordinates: -4409, 2577, 1413 |
Use the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower and paraglide southwest to the farthest island on the map. You can find the King Gleeok on the largest sky island of Gerudo Sky which is also located above the Lightning Temple. You can pin this temple on the map for easier tracking.
Coordinates: -4485, 2260, 1246 |
Use the floating ships of the Wind Temple to propel yourself upwards. Once at a certain height, paraglide all the way down to the island.
Coordinates: 4587, -3695, 1079 |
Head to Kumamayn Shrine and rotate the catapult towards the direction of the island. Land on the nearest island first and use this space to create a makeshift hot-air balloon to elevate yourself further. Once at a certain height, glide towards the island and use Vow of Tulin to push yourself closer.
Coordinates: 0327, 3123, -0621 |
Use the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower and head towards the Drenan Highlands Chasm to enter the Depths. Head northeast and activate the Katenim Lightroot to see the Gleeok Den. Make sure to bring your hover bike to explore the depths safely!
Additionally, the King Gleeok found in Gleeok Den is Gloom Infested and can inflict Gloom with its attacks. Be sure to bring food with the Sunny status effect to cure Gloom damage, or equip the Depths set for Gloom Resistance.
How to Beat Frost Gleeok |
---|
|
Shoot all three heads of King Gleeok in order to make it fall to the ground. Each head will have its own health bar, which you need to deplete, in order for King Gleeok to be stunned.
Bows that can multi-shot are the best weapons to bring since they fire off x3 or x5 arrows at the same time. Fuse these with Keese Eyeballs then shoot them at the Gleeok to launch the arrows that will automatically track all three heads in one attack.
One King Gleeok has fallen, immediately run up and it hits heads with melee attacks. Repeat this process until King Gleeok is defeated.
Use Ascend or Rocket Shield to get on up high ground. This will make it easier to aim at and hit each of King Gleeok's heads.
Ascend Guide: How to Pass Through Ceilings
King Gleeok will have several elemental attacks that do high amounts of damage. Get behind rocks and pillars to avoid its attacks.
Bring at least two Zonai Springs as King Gleeok will fly higher during the second phase. You can use these springs to elevate yourself further and reach it close enough to hit it with your bow attacks.
When King Gleeok is low on HP, it will fly up into the air for the rest of the fight. You can reach King Gleeok by getting on one of the ice spikes it throws down, using Recall on it. You can also use your Paraglider to ride the updraft caused by King Gleeok's thunderstrikes.
Alternatively still, you can use Rocket Shield to quickly and easily reach King Gleeok.
Recall Guide: How to Rewind Time on Objects
If you're having trouble recalling the ice spikes, you can use the air vents to launch yourself as high as possible in the sky and shoot an arrow fused with Aerocuda Eyeball at the King Gleeok.
The infused arrow has a prolonged projectile time so it travels a lot longer in the air and could automatically track Gleeok's head if the arrow comes close to it.
King Gleeok is one of the hardest miniboss to fight in Tears of the Kingdom. In addition to the difficulty of reaching its remote locations, it sends out powerful attacks using three different elements. Be sure to prepare first before attempting to fight it.
Recommended Weapons for Fighting King Gleeok | |||
---|---|---|---|
Scimitar of the Seven | Lightscale Trident | Fierce Deity Sword | Diamond Reaper |
Blue Moblin Smasher | Great Eagle Bow | Savage Lynel Bow | Royal Guard's Bow |
Bring all your favorite high-damaging weapons before battling King Gleook. You can also try getting late-game weapons like Champions Weapons to help you inflict more damage.
As the battle heavily relies on the use of bows, make sure to bring plenty of arrows as well. This is to make sure that you have enough offense while fighting King Gleeok on all phases.
Materials for Fusing | |||
---|---|---|---|
Silver Lynel Saber Horn | Silver Lynel Mace Horn | Silver Moblin Horn | Shard of Light Dragon's Spike |
Light Dragon's Horn | Keese Eyeball | Aerocuda Wing | Bomb Flower |
Fusing Silver Lynel materials to your weapons provides a massive attack boost that can help you inflict massive damage on King Gleeok. You can also fuse Light Dragon materials to your weapons to regain missing hearts if you find yourself on low health.
Additionally, attaching Keese Eyeball and Aerocuda Wings to your arrows can also improve your attack precision. This will make it easier for you to take down King Gleeok with your bows.
Best Fuse Materials and Weapon Combinations
It is also recommended to bring Zonai Springs with you to help you fly higher during your combat with King Gleeok. You can get Zonai Springs from several Zonai Dispensers, so make sure to bring Zonai Charges to get plenty of it.
King Gleeok This three-headed monster with lightning, fire, and ice attributes first appeared after the Upheaval. Fighting it alone is inadvisable, as it can launch coordinated elemental attacks with staggering brutality. You must be well-prepared to survive an entanglement with this beast. |
