How to Use Recall | |
---|---|
1 | With the Recall Ability selected, press the L button (). The skill will activate, and objects that can be reversed will have an orange glow. |
2 | Target the object you want to rewind and press the A Button (). Once an object has been recalled, a blue countdown timer will appear showing how far back the object will rewind for. |
You can also use the Recall ability on fallen boulders to reach high places such as the Sky Islands. Activate the ability by pressing the L Button to find the fallen boulders that you can rewind.
Recall can also be used to gain height. Grab an object with Ultrahand and hold it high in the air for a few seconds. Let it go, and use Recall on the object to move it back in air.
This can be used to cheese most Shrine puzzles in the game or ride the Zonai Wing without using a runway.
You can use Recall to rewind objects and use them to inflict damage to enemies. As seen in the video clip above, Link uses Recall to push back the spiked objects to attack the Bokoblin and Moblin.

Certain objects that you can use Ultrahand with can also be used to recall its motion. This means that it is possible to make an elevator using two fused objects.
To do this, fuse an arrow with a piece of Wood, shoot it towards the sky, and wait for it to land down. Then, you can attach a wooden platform on top of the wood and use Recall on the material to create the elevator.

You'll unlock the Recall ability after completing 3 Sky Shrines (Ukouh, In-isa, and Gutanbac) and returning to the Temple of Time. The Temple of Time is located at the coordinates 0453, -0825, 1455.
Recall is needed to progress through the rest of the game starting with the next quest Find Princess Zelda (Part 2), particularly the 4th shrine, Nachoyah Shrine.

The Recall ability allows Link to reverse the momentum of objects. It can be used to redirect objects at enemies in combat and to move objects integral to traversal around for better exploration.
Recall is one of Link's 4 new abilities introduced in Tears of the Kingdom. Along with Ultrahand, Fuse, and Ascend, Recall is integral to fully exploring the map of the new game.
