You can whistle to call your horse or alert nearby enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Read on to learn how to whistle and find out its other in-game effects.
To whistle, simply press the down button on the directional pad of your left joycon. You can use this whistle feature anywhere except in Shrines, as horses cannot enter these locations.
The main function of whistling is to help you summon your horse back after getting separated from it. Keep in mind that this would not work if you're too far away from your horse.
How to Tame Wild Horses
Whistling will also alert nearby enemies, so be careful when using it to summon your horse back. This is also a good baiting method, as enemies will not only notice you but also attack you once alerted.
Unfortunately, Whistle Sprint has been removed in Tears of the Kingdom. This was a known feature in the previous game where you can dash without depleting your stamina gauge with a single whistle. The only other way to move faster now is to simply ride a horse.
