| General Updates ・By starting the game from within certain articles released on a specific Switch News channel (accessed via the HOME Menu) players can receive a number of in-game items. ・Depending on the state of gameplay progression or the location in which the data is reopened, there may be cases in which the items cannot be received. Additional Fixes ・Fixed an issue where players could not progress beyond a certain point in a quest. Downloading the update will allow players to proceed past that point. Main Quests: ・Mystery in the Depths ・Secret of the Ring Ruins Side Adventures: ・Hateno Village Research Lab ・Lurelin Village Restoration Project Shrine Quest: ・Dyeing to Find It Side Quests: ・Village Attacked by Pirates ・The Incomplete Stable ・Seeking the Pirate Hideout ・Fixed an issue preventing fairies from appearing under certain conditions when they originally should have appeared. ・Fixed an issue preventing the meals provided by Kiana of Lurelin Village from changing under certain conditions. ・Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience. Nintendo has also added a feature wherein players can get items by launching the game from certain articles filed under Tears of the Kingdom on the Switch News Channel in the console's HOME screen.
At the time of writing, players can get a Hylian Shroom and a Soldier's Broadsword from the Fun Uses for Fungi article.
Players who had issues progressing through certain Main Quests, Side Adventures, Shrine Quests, and Side Quests have been addressed in this patch.
All of the duplication glitches found in the Ver. 1.1.2 of the game have been patched in Ver. 1.2.0. This means that the Icy Gourmet Meat glitch and the Memories glitch for weapons will not work on the latest version of the game.

You can keep the dupe glitch by simply not updating to the latest version of Tears of the Kingdom. You can prevent your Switch console from auto-updating the application by going to System, then turning Off the Auto-Update Software option.

Of course, make sure not to select Install when starting the game again after the Ver. 1.2.0 update. You can simply select Start Software to continue on Ver. 1.1.2 of the Tears of the Kingdom.
