Defeat Bubbulfrogs in Caves

Zelda TotK - Bubbulfrog

Defeating Bubbulfrogs is the only way to collect Bubbul Gems. They are creatures resembling frogs that are found deep within caves. Bubbulfrogs are much larger than frogs and have patterns throughout their body.

Getting Bubbul Gem Clears Caves

Once you hunt a Bubbulfrog and get its Bubbul Gem drop, a checkmark will be added on the cave's icon in the map, signifying that you have cleared the cave.

You need a total of 45 Bubbul Gems in order to complete the initial set of rewards, which includes the entire Mystic Armor Set.

Obtain Koltin's Fabric After Finding All Bubbul Gems

After obtaining the initial set of rewards, Koltin will ask you to farm the remaining 101 Bubbul Gems to complete his Satori transformation. Doing so will reward you with Koltin's Fabric that you can use to customize your paraglider.

How Many Bubbul Gems Are There?

A Total of 146 Bubbul Gems

Zelda TotK - Giving Bubbul Gem to Koltin

There are a total of 146 Bubbul Gems found in the game. By the time you reach this number, Koltin will not be able to detect any Bubbulfrogs anymore and will ask you to give him the remaining Bubbul Gems to complete his transformation. After that, he will give you the Koltin Fabric as his final gift to you. Make sure to find all the Bubbul Frogs from each of the caves across Hyrule.

Ask Koltin For Bubbul Frog Locations

After finishing The Search for Koltin side adventure, Koltin will tell you that he can now sense the whereabouts of some Bubbul Gems. You may ask him to give you a clue with regards to their locations.

Observe Frog Croaks

You can tell whether a Bubbulfrog is near when you hear croaking sounds. This is especially useful when they're hiding behind breakable rocks or hard-to-find areas.

Follow Blupees

If you ever see a Blupee, hit it with a weapon or startle it. The Blupee will start running away from you and towards a cave entrance. Follow it when you're having a difficult time looking for a certain cave.

Offer Golden Apples to Satori Cherry Blossom Trees

Offering Golden Apples to Satori Cherry Blossom Trees will reveal all the nearby caves around the area. Simply follow all the light pillars after the cutscene to reach these caves.

Each region will have only one Satori Cherry Blossom Tree and you can find an in-game map showing all the location of the trees in the Outskirts Stable.
