Base 4-4-5-3 split

To make upgrading your horse less time consuming, it's recommended to catch a horse with already high stats. The highest base stats we've seen on a wild horse have been the splits 4-4-5-3 and 4-3-4-3. Horses like these can be found in either Zokassa Ridge, or east of Dueling Peaks.

Upgrade Stats to 20 Stars Via Cooked Dishes

Zelda TOTK Horse Upgrade Requirements

Once you have a horse you want to max out the stats of (i.e. make the best!), you need to talk to Malanya and feed the horse set cooked dishes to max out all its stats. Strength, Speed, Stamina, and Pull are the 4 stats that can be maxed out to 5 stars. Each cooked dish fed will increase the 1 stat by 1 star, so a good amount of cooking is needed.

Talk to Malanya and Upgrade with Cooked Dishes

Zelda TOTK Malanya Horse Upgrade

Talk to Malanya and select the horse you wish to buff the stats of. Depending on which stat of the horse's 4 stats you want to improve (upgrade by 1), you'll need a selection of dishes to feed the horse.

As depicted above, the horse would need cooked dishes such as Vegetable Curry (3x), Hot Buttered Apple (3x), and Carrot Cake (3x) in order to upgrade its Strength ability stat.

Literally just made all the 4-5 star meals for upgrading all 6 of my horses Speed and it's wrong here, and now that I check, so is Pull. Y'all need to check your info before posting. Also, this needs to include 1-2 star upgrades, because that actually exists. Thanks for wasting hours of ingredient grinding!
