The final step before you can increase your battery size is to travel to a Crystal Refinery, take 100 Crystallized Charges, and exchange it for an energy well upgrade which expands your battery.

You will need 3 energy well upgrades to increase your energy cells. Crystal Refineries are found within caves and managed by a Steward Construct.

How to Get More Energy Cells

Obtain Energy Wells to Get More Energy Cells

Zelda TOTK - Increase Energy Cells

Energy Wells increase the capacity for carrying Energy Cells. 3 Energy Wells make up 1 whole battery icon of the Energy Cell. Therefore, exchanging more Crystallized Charges for Energy Wells will increase the capacity of your Energy Cells.

Since it takes 100 Crystallized Charges to make 1 Energy Well, you'll need 300 Crystallized Charges in order to ultimately create 1 whole, fully charged Energy Cell.

Maximum Number of Energy Wells is 45

Zelda TotK - Maximum Number of Energy Wells is 45
Players start out with 3 Energy Wells, and can upgrade to a maximum number of 45 Energy Wells. After getting your 21st Energy Well, your next upgrade will change the color of the batteries from green to blue, effectively doubling that well's capacity. 4500 Crystallized Charges are required to fully max out your Energy Cells.

Once you have maxed out your Energy Wells, the Steward Construct will start selling Zonai Devices in exchange for Crystallized Charges. This is a good way to obtain a Zonai Device of your choice instead of relying on luck on the Zonai Dispenser.
