Bring Out Fans and Steering Stick

Zelda TotK - Bring Out Fans and Steering Stick

To make a Zonai hover bike, you only need two Zonai Fans and a Steering Stick.

You can easily get both at Zonai Dispensers, specifically at the Hudson Construction Site Device Dispenser near Tarrey Town on the surface or at the Joku-u Shrine Device Dispenser near the Joku-u Shrine at the sky.

List of All Zonai Devices

Attach a Dragon's Horn

TotK - Dragon Horn Attached to a Hover Bike

Attach a horn from any dragon to your hover bike to drastically extend its radius from which it'll despawn. This will be useful as you don't have to rebuild it each time you stray too far from it.

Build with Ultrahand

Zelda TotK - Build Hover Bike with Ultrahand

Place the Zonai fans flat on the ground facing downwards. Then, grab the Steering Stick with Ultrahand and rotate it horizontally by 45 degrees, with the handle pointing upwards.

Next, attach the middle of the Steering Stick with one of the fans. Make sure that you stick both devices in the middle, as the positioning is important to make the hover bike as smooth and steady as possible as it flies. Do the same thing for the other fan.

It is recommended to build the hover bike on flat terrain to lessen the hassle of lining up the Zonai devices properly.

Test Hover Bike and Adjust Steering Stick

Zelda TotK - Test Hover Bike

Once you combine all the Zonai devices, interact with the Steering Stick to ride it and test your hover bike.

If the hover bike you built is not propelling and flying properly, the Steering Stick may be placed incorrectly and needs to be adjusted.

Detach the Steering Stick and adjust its placement between the two Fans until you can place it right in the middle of the two objects.

Save Hover Bike in Autobuild

Zelda TotK - Save Hover Bike in Autobuild

Once you're satisfied with the way your hover bike is flying, make sure to save the build in Autobuild so you can easily create another hover bike the next time you need it.

Simply open Autobuild and press Y while the hover bike is selected to mark it as Favorite. This will save it on top of the list, providing you easy access to this build!

Needs 9 Zonaite Without Zonai Devices

Zelda TotK - 10 Zonaite for Hover Bike

If you run out of Fans and Steering Sticks, you can still make a hover bike via Autobuild, but it requires 9 Zonaite to create the entire vehicle from scratch.

If you added in a dragon's horn to your build, it'll require you 12 Zonaite instead to create the whole build from scratch.

Ride to Explore Hyrule Easily

Zelda TotK - Ride Hover Bike When Exploring

Building a hover bike allows you to easily explore Hyrule and traverse great distances and reach high places.

Riding a hover bike will also ease Depths explorations as you can simply fly across the map and activate Lightroots. Hover bikes will also help you reach islands in the sky which are far away from Shrines and other landmarks.

Use to Transport Backpack Koroks

Zelda TotK - Use Hover Bike to Transport Koroks

Backpack Koroks, which you can find at some areas in Hyrule, can be easily transported to if you attach them to your hover bike and fly towards the location of their friends. This beats having to carry them by foot or other methods which take more time.

You cannot, unfortunately, carry crystals which unlock and reveal Shrines as they are too heavy for the hover bike to lift.

Extend Flight Time with Batteries

Zelda TotK - Use Batteries

You can extend the duration of yoru flight and maximize your ride time with your hover bike if you obtain more Zonai energy cells. You can upgrade your Zonai battery to give your hover bike more juice as you take it flying across the skies.

You can also attach a Zonai Battery or Big Battery on the vehicle to give it a separate energy source.

Add Other Zonai Devices

Zelda TotK - Add Zonai Devices

If you want to weaponize your hover bike, you can attach Emitters and Cannons on the hover bike, but do take note that this will contribute to faster Zonai energy consumption and add weight to the vehicle.

Alternatively, you can gain height immediately before starting your flight if you attach a Rocket pointing upwards on your hover bike. This will launch the vehicle to the sky instantly without having to slowly ascend once you ride your hover bike.
