Defeat a number of overworld bosses to obtain various Monster Medals in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Read on to learn how to get each Monster Medal, the required number of bosses to defeat, and more!

How to Get Monster Medals

Talk to Gralens to Start the Associated Side Quests

Zelda TotK - Talk to Gralens to Obtain the Associated Side Quests

Find Gralens inside the Emergency Shelter at Lookout Landing and choose the options "How about big monsters?" and "Unusual monsters?". Choose all the options to obtain the side quests required to obtain the Monster Medals.

Note that you need to complete any of the Monster-Control Crew side adventures such as the Bring Peace to Hyrule Field for the side quests to become available.

Track the Number of Monsters by Type

Zelda Totk - Track the Number of Monsters by Type
Once you complete all the side quests, you can talk to Gralens again to learn the number of remaining monsters by type in Hyrule. This helps you keep track of the remaining bosses needed to obtain the Monster Medals.

You will need to travel all around Hyrule and defeat all the monsters to obtain the corresponding Monster Medal. See the table below to learn how many monsters are required to obtain the Key Item.
