You can gather different types of items in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Read on for a full list of items and learn about the Materials, Zonai Devices, and Key Items that you can place in your inventory.

Materials include ingredients, critters, monster parts, ores, and other items found all over Hyrule that can be placed in your inventory. These items can be used for cooking, combat, and other ways to boost survivability.
Ingredients include edible items that can be used for cooking Recipes. Most of these items can be hunted and gathered from the overworld, but some can be bought from shops.

Small animals such as insects, frogs, and lizards are considered as critters. These items cannot be used for cooking dishes, but they can be combined with monster parts to create Elixirs.
Ores and Gems can be obtained from mining Ore Deposits or by defeating enemies that drop them, particularly Taluses. These items can sell for a high price at shops, or fused with weapons for bonus effects.

Monster Parts are dropped by monsters and enemies after they are defeated. These items can be fused with weapons to enhance combat. Monster parts not including Zonai Construct drops can also be combined with small critters to create Elixirs.
Other items and materials that improve exploration and survivability can be found all over Hyrule and the new locations in Tears of the Kingdom.

Zonai Materials are ancient items that provide energy for Zonai Devices and other related technology.

Zonai Devices are items that you can use Ultrahand to combine and craft makeshift vehicles to navigate through the world of Hyrule.
Key Items can't simply be held and removed from the inventory at any point in the overworld. Instead, Key Items include Link's abilities, collectibles, items necessary for the plot, and fabric used to customize the paraglider.
