You can spot Cherry Blossom Trees all over Hyrule's surface. Each tree has an offering bowl at its base, and placing a fruit on the bowl, such as an Apple, will reveal the caves in the surrounding region with light coming from their entrances.
This becomes very handy when you are having trouble looking for cave entrances. This effect lasts for about 24 minutes.

Caves are also home to Bubbfulfrogs which are mystical creatures that drop Bubbul Gems when defeated. Make sure to look out for these creatures as you explore caves and get.

Once you hunt a Bubbulfrog and get its Bubbul Gem drop, a checkmark will be added on the cave's icon in the map, signifying that you have cleared the cave.

Most caves have ore deposits that you can destroy to obtain the ores inside. Use hammer type weapons to effectly break ore deposits.
You can also use bombs, or the sage abilities of Yunobo or Riju to cause deposits to explode. However, this causes ores to get blown away.
Caves are the best place to find Bomb Flowers and Brightbloom Seeds. Make sure to pick up any of these materials whenever you come across them when visiting caves, and you'll be surprised to see how fast they pile up in your inventory!
You may also get other materials, such as ingredients you can use when cooking or encounter monsters whose materials you can use for making elixirs.

Some Caves contain treasure chests which you can loot to get more materials, special armor, and even special weapons!
Special items are guaranteed when you are following the Misko's Treasure quests.
