Ganon is the main antagonist and King of Evil in the Legend of Zelda Series. He also possesses the Triforce of Power. Read on for details on Ganon’s backstory, and info whether or not Ganondorf will appear on Tears of the Kingdom.
List of Contents
Ganondorf looks to be once again, the final boss Link will be facing to finish the main story of Tears of the Kingdom. Instead of his previous form, the Calamity Ganon in Breath of the Wild, he is shown with his true form. The skeleton shown in previous trailers must not be Ganondorf himself since he is shown as a Gerudo, his true form, much like in the previous titles.
Ganondorf seems to inflict Malice onto enemies which may make them tougher to deal with.

Character Description |
Ganon, or Ganondorf in his human form, is a powerful Gerudo warrior and leader of a band of thieves. As the only male Gerudo born to his tribe every 100 years, he is also the King of the Gerudo by birthright. He seems to be responsible for the tragedy that struck Hyrule. |
Ganon is Ganondorf's bestial form and is a being of pure destruction described as composed of pure malice and hatred.
He usually takes this form after being bested in his human form and trades his swordsmanship and magic for pure power.

As revealed in Skyward Sword, Ganon is in fact the incarnation of the unending hatred of Demise, the Demon King. Through a curse, both the Goddess Hylia and the Spirit of the Hero are reincarnated as Zelda and Link respectively through the ages.
Ganondorf, famously known as the main antagonist of the Legend of Zelda franchise, returned as a strange entity in Breath of the Wild. He takes the form of a boar-like creature and a giant monster known as Calamity Ganon. In Tears of the Kingdom, he appears in his human form and resumes his role as the final boss.

In previous games such as Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, Ganondorf possesses the Triforce of Power, one of the pieces of the Triforce which grants Ganondorf great strength and mystical power as well as some measure of invulnerability.
In Breath of the Wild, Ganon curiously doesn't seem to possess the Triforce of Power similar to how Link doesn't posses the Triforce of Courage. Instead, Zelda appears to wield the whole Triforce.
In Breath of the Wild, Ganon's return as Calamity Ganon is central to the plot. Fated to reincarnate and ravage Hyrule, the Sheikah tribe created Guardians and Divine Beasts to subdue him.
In an unexpected turn of events, Ganon manages to corrupt the Guardians and the Divine Beasts and cements his takeover of Hyrule. With the deaths of the Champions and Link entering a 100 year-long sleep, Zelda manages to lock Ganon in stasis using her divine powers.
In BotW, Urbosa's dialogue when she takes aim at Calamity Ganon from Vah Naboris shows that she and the Gerudo people deeply resents Ganon for the harm he's caused Hyrule, which led to the stigmatization of the Gerudo Tribe.
