Triggering Perfect Guard is the best way to parry enemy attacks. This is also one of the best ways to stagger enemies as it gives you an opening to hit back enemies while they are vulnerable. This also the best way to counter shielded enemies.
How to Defeat Shielded Enemies
Shield Durability does not decrease on every successful Perfect Guard. This is the best way to preserve shields, especially when using them for combats.
However, if you do fail to trigger a Perfect Guard, your shield will end up taking damage.
How to Increase Weapon Durability
You can also use Perfect Guard to parry ranged attacks. It is harder to execute as you need to skillfully predict the timing of the incoming attacks, but you can get it right with enough practice.
Also, some enemies will not stagger even on successful triggers. Enemies with bows, for example, will continue to shoot arrows even when parried.
With better understanding of enemy behaviors, you can correctly predict any incoming attacks. You can do this by simply observing them first to get a better grasp of their combat patterns. This will make it easier for you to trigger Perfect Guard at all times.
