How to Get Pristine Weapons

Pristine weapons in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) can be obtained from the shadow soldiers in the depths or by scanning amiibo figures. Read on to learn how to get Pristine Weapons, how they respawn, a list of all pristine weapons, and what they are!

How to Get Pristine Weapons

Pristine Weapons can be obtained in two ways.

Before you start hunting for a specific Pristine Weapon, the first thing you need to do is to find the decayed version of the weapon that you want and then break it. Doing so will add the Pristine Weapon of your choice to the pool of weapons that can appear from shadow soldiers in the depths and amiibo figures.

Afterwards, you can do either of the two methods to get a Pristine Weapon.

From Shadow Soldiers in the Depths

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom TotK - Pristine Weapons Depths

After breaking the decayed version of the Pristine Weapon that you want, go to the depths and find shadow soldiers to see if one of them is holding your desired Pristine Weapon.

Track down your weapon of choice with the Sensor+ in your Purah Pad to make the job easier.

If none of the shadow soldiers is holding the Prisine Weapon that you want, take the weapons from them and wait for the next blood moon to appear. Doing so rerolls the weapons the shadow soldiers are holding.

Repeat this process until you find the Prisitne Weapon that you desire.

Hyrule Depths Map and Guide

Shadow Soldiers Are Tied to One Weapon Type

Shadow Soldiers in the depths are tied to one weapon type. This means that if you got a one-handed weapon from a Shadow Soldier, the succeeding Prisitne Weapons it will hold will always be one-handed weapons.

We recommend marking the locations of each shadow soldier type so you can always go back to them if you want to get a Pristine Weapon of a specific type.

You can use the stamps on your Purah Pad to mark the locations of each shadow soldier type.

Some weapons, both decayed and pristine versions, only spawn at specific areas in Hyrule. For example, Zora weapons spawn only at Lanayru, with the decayed ones on the surface and the pristine ones in the Depths.

With that in mind, if you're hunting for a pristine version of a weapon native to an area, it will only spawn on that area's Depths counterpart.

By Scanning amiibos

You can get also get pristine weapons by chance when opening chests from scanned amiibo figures.

However, amiibo figures can only be scanned once per day. You'll need to change your switch's system time if you plan to keep on scanning your amiibo figures to get your preferred pristine weapon.

Undecayed Version of Weapons

TotK - Forest Dweller Sword Side-by-Side

Pristine weapons are the original variants of the weapons throughout Hyrule. Ever since the Upheaval, most, if not all, weapons on the surface became decayed, decreasing their overall durability and damage.

Champion Weapons Remain Pristine

Tears of the Kingdom - Scimitar of the Seven

Champion weapons will always be in their pristine condition even after submitting a decayed weapon as the base requirement for crafting it.
