What is a Windtrace Hunter?

Team	Match Objective
Hunter	Capture all the Rebels within the stipulated time.
Rebels	Move and hide to avoid the Hunter until the time limit is up.

The Hunter's job is to seek out rebels during Windtrace matches. Windtrace is a hide-and-seek event in Genshin Impact with matches consisting of two teams: The Hunter, and the Rebels.

How do Hunters win Windtrace matches?

How to win as the Hunter

The Hunter wins by seeking and capturing all Rebels hiding in an event area. If even a single Rebel is left uncaptured when time runs out, the Hunter loses. The Hunter's Combat Talents will be replaced with Windward Arts to help capture Rebels.

Version 2.4 Hunter Features

In Version 2.4, Hunters will no longer see the general path of where the Rebels went during the preparation time as their vision would be obscured. However, the Hunter's stamina consumption is greatly reduced!

Recommended Hunter Skills
Mysterious Hunch	• Unlike Sensor Aura, it has no range limit. • It's usually easy to spot Rebels once you know the direction of their location. • Great when combined with Imprisoning Curse.
Capture!	You can’t change this out for other skills.
Imprisoning Curse	• Dispels a Rebel's disguise and restrains them for 40 seconds, which is enough time to hunt them down! • Great when combined with Mysterious Hunch to locate the restrained Rebel.

List of All Windtrace Hunter Skills

Skill	Skill Description
Sensor Aura	Scout a fixed area around yourself. You will be notified if a Rebel is in the area.
Mysterious Hunch	Briefly show the direction in which all Rebels can be found.
Capture!	Dispel the guise of a nearby Rebel and capture them.
Imprisoning Curse	Randomly dispels the disguise of one Rebel and restrains them for a time. During this time, the target will be unable to leave the restraining area. The Rebels will be warned of this action.
Insight	Dispels the disguises of all Rebels and briefly marks their location on the minimap while showing the position of nearby Rebels on the scene with a pillar of light. During this time, the Rebels will be unable to disguise themselves. They will also be warned of this action.
Hunter's Intuition	Randomly dispels the disguise of one Rebel and marks their location on the minimap for a long period of time. If the target is nearby, their location will be marked by a pillar of light. The target cannot disguise themselves for the duration of this effect. The Rebels will also be warned of this action.

What are Windward Arts?

Windward Arts replace normal Combat Talents during Windtrace Matches. You can only equip 3 Windward Arts at a time to replace your Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst. The Hunter's Windward Arts are made to locate and restrain Rebels in hiding.

Hunter Tips and Strategies

Search the Edges of the Map First

It's best to search the edges of event areas as some Rebels would hide in crevices in the outskirts of the map. After searching the edges of the map, you can begin searching inward until you reach the center of the event area.

Use Elevated Areas to Scout Hiding Spots

With the match's time limit, it's difficult to thoroughly inspect every nook and cranny of the map. To help plan out your search, you can climb up on roofs or cliffs or any elevated position to find potential hiding spots. Some Rebels may be hiding in the elevated areas themselves too!

Time Your Favors Right

Upon obtaining a Favor, you will be able to use your ultimate Hunter ability. Use it wisely though, as they can only be activated once during a match! Poor timing might even let a Rebel or two escape...

When using Imprisoning Curse, it's wise to use your Favor early, and with Mysterious Hunch! When using Insight or Hunter's Intuition however, it may be wise to wait for the 30-second Movement SPD boost to easily capture marked Rebels.
