it's okay that an older character gets taken down a notch, especially when there is a newer unit with the same element and weapon that is just plain better. hu tao was always overrated anyways, needing c1 and her weapon. meanwhile arlechinno just sweeps everything without having to manage being at low hp.
so she's expensive. I wouldn't recommend that for new players. They can spend their C1 + bis luck for another or two characters, like Neuvillette. We need more than one "good" character afterall. So this means she's expensive. Honestly after theater I wouldn't recommend her to old players either xD
how is it like a math test? Tier list isn't for old players who already know what to do and how everyone works. Certainly it can be used for them to know who else to pull, but the main use of it is for new players to know who's worth pulling and who isn't. Sure, Genshin is about grinding and luck, but hu tao does less than for example alre for the same amount of work. 1. You need to upgrade all 3 of her talents, 2. You need her bis and her C1 to perform as good as for example c0r0 Lyney>
293: I just realize in the Tier List Overview Criteria, for SS main DPS, it at least mentions "great ease of use", however at the same time in DPS Rating Criteria, it only considers damage from NA, CA, elem.skill and burst. None mention cost nor f2p-friendliness. I'm just pissed about the reason "expensive". Had they just said, hu tao got powercrept, I would agree. That's all I wanted to say. Genshin after all is a grinding game to get perfect artifacts for chars, you get from gacha. (story too)

Arle can't be healed during battle lmao. And yeah, it does say that, but does it say the only factor is their dmg? If so, for example Gaming should be higher than Neuvillette right? Cuz Gaming can do 500k+ with one skill while neu can't. While neu can do more in one rotation. It compares the dmg in rotation, how easy t build they are, how comfortable, f2p friendly they are. Not how popular they are lol

Also to whoever claimed, Arle could use benny way better than hu tao. Peach, if you heal arle, you effectively remove her elem. infusion!
tier list has more factors than just dmg. Considering how easier newer pyro dps are to build and less expensive, to get the same results as hu, her demotion makes complete sense ;)
The ayaka demote made sense because freeze comp is basically dead, but hutao is still strong in the current date. This derank only makes sense if you compare the value you get out of Arlech compared to Hutao, but that's not what the tierlist is for. The tierlist is meant to show the relative strength of characters and hutao is still a strong pick. Theres a seperate section for priority pulls ( Arlech is objectively the more f2p friendly). Overall, an uneeded change.

and nope, but not everything is about DMG. I'd rather die than play MidTao with her outdated playstyle. Boring, old, expensive, not everyone are willing to lose a more interesting and actually useful character for her C1 and bis like some simps *cough* this guy getting frustrated over a fictional character *cough*

Yeah. It seems like if they wanted to make these changes. It should of been done sometime ago, rather than just out of the blue. Given hu tao has not really change much in terms of strength, between now and say in 4.8. Now it seems like they are just breaking their own rules and making up new ones.
Dude. You put to much fate in tier lists. If the reason they move her down. Was simply due to needing costly teams. That does not mean she bad or worst. Or even not better than a ss tier character in the right team.
Can we stop with the simping and go back to the underlying issue? DPS means damage-per-second, not comfort of time&money to build or play. I care about the reason, which to this site are 1.relevance, 2.investment-requirement, 3.self-sufficient and 4.less expensive (which is just 2.). On their OWN sites Tier List Criteria for DPS Rating, they claim "High Damage From All Sources" (NA, CA, e.skill, burst, constellations, CC). Those are no reasons. Those are excuses. hypocrisy here

well speaking of hu tao. Rather sure her banner would have more overall value. Given that means staff of homa rerun. Which is universal good on alot of polearm characters.
