Yelan is okay for less AoE freeze, zhongli you should not add at all since his Geo structure will shatter frozen enemies. If you want shields, might as well go Diona tbh

At the cryo freeze team, can you do a Chongyun-Shenhe-Xingqiu-Yelan or Chongyun-Shenhe-Yelan-Zhongli? and isn't these better than Chongyun-Shenhe-Xingqiu-Jean? why is jean there anyway?.

I recently got back into Genshin and I love using Chongyun I have no idea who to build him with I have been using Xiao, Fischl and barbara with him and its not doing much for me. Thoma, Sara, Yanfei, Xiao, Keqing, Sucrose, Noelle, Bennett, Fischl, Xingqui, Beidou,Xiangling, Razor, barbara, lisa, kaeya, Amber this are all the characters I have no clue who to use him with this guide isn't helping at all either

>>35 I think you misunderstood the reactions. Normal damage does not clear Cyro, it breaks Frozen. In fact, this might even make it better for Chongyun because then he does not need to hit an extra time to break the ice, the weapon will do it for him and proc the extra damage, this means that every swing of his in his circle will both Freeze and break for more damage rather than 1 every 2 swings.

I think it's wrong to use the Skyward and the Prototype if you plan to use Chongyun as a DPS or sub-dps because their passive deals a physical damage that interrupt the cryo status. In this case, you can't freeze the enemies to immobilize them and you can't even deal more damage using the elemental reactions. I think the best 2nd weapon is the Favonius greatsword or at least every weapon that doesn't deal an extra physical attack.

Sea-lord or sacrificial greatsword for Chongyun? I'm building a second team for spiral abyss, I use archaic on my main DPS on 1st team. Those 2 are the only other options I have left.

I want to build main dps chongyun one day, is the fish claymore a good weapon for him? My artifact choices will be 4 pc blizzard strayer so I don’t have to worry abt crit rate

>>28 It's not Chongyun doing the damage, it's the Icicle from the sword. I think you misunderstood the problem, it's not "all physical attacks become useless", it's "all physical attacks become cryo attacks", so your artifacts that boost physical damage like Bloodstained 2 set and Pale Flame 2 set suddenly stop working because they only boost physical damage.

>>24 It's better if you use another claymore as sacrificial claymore is mostly used for ER and elemetal skill reset. Both of these aspects are kinda wasted on him as he has a low elemental skill cd and a low-energy burst. If you want to maximise damage I would recommend the craftable claymore from dragonspine (forgot name; the one that drops ice crystals; good passive but wasted substat) or prototype archaic (overall good weapon). Also please don't use him with Razor. (Zy0x on yt for guides)
